Staff were very nice and helpful. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, water was hot. Cafe serves good coffee and tea. Breakfast was fair, as they do not have a grill. The downstairs restaurant was just kind of odd. We tried to eat there once, and it seemed like they were having a hard time identifying how they could serve us dinner, as they were hosting an all you can drink, micro-brew beers in their main dining room. We passed on it, and found an excellent, small sushi restaurant around the corner that was recommended by the desk staff. This is not a hotel for the nose-in-the-air, high-maintenance types. It's an easy, comfortable, friendly place to stay, in a great location.

Run by a local magazine company, LEAF, this hotel has amazing amenities carefully selected by their staff--most are locally sourced, therefore enhancing your Kyoto experience! Loved the local Kyoto beer in the mini bar and the wooden hair brush as well as the slippers!! Best of the best. Also Iyemon Salon is right around the corner, which has the best of Japanese Kyoto style delicacies blended with Western modernity ;)

Stayed at Nazuna for 3 nights during our honeymoon. Great location close to Nijo Castle and bus/metro to other sights in Kyoto. The room was gorgeous, very large and comfortable, extremely clean. Loved the traditional feel of this hotel, the private hot tub/onsen on the patio. Nice view of the inner garden/courtyard.
