Close to main shopping streets and many shopping malls. Ten mins walk to a subway srstion.
Room is quite large and clean but walls and ceiling do not have sufficent insulation. We could hear people walking and noise from the upper room.Air condition seems weak, was ok for us but not sure if it can cope with hot days.

The hotel staff greeted us immediately and offered to bring up the bags, which is to be expected at such a nice hotel. However, they also upgraded us to the Executive suite and were overly accommodating with their concierge service, setting up the next leg of my trip perfectly. The location is outstanding and will allow easy access to the best Kyoto has to offer, plus it is attached to the train station so you never have to be outside prior to arrival.

Stayed in room 402 for just one night, but really wished I could have stayed longer. The rooms were really huge with plenty of facilities such as a Nespresso machine (with complementary coffee!), a bath tub and walk-in closet. It's situated just across the road from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and walking distance to Teramachi and Nishiki market which are great places for shopping and finding good food. Staff was really helpful and recommended me a nearby restaurant for dinner. There are also plenty of information readily available from the information counter which was really helpful. 5 stars and would stay here again.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. It's clean and check in was a breeze with extremely helpful staff. The room was clean and neat. Breakfast options are extremely limited and i would strongly advise to find a cafe nearby and enjoy a nice start to the day.
A lot of sightseeing can be done by just walking out the front door, turning left and walking all the way down the main road. The shopping is great so expect to be lured into the many shops along the way.
Overall this hotel is good for the money. Sure there are hotels closer to the action but a nice stroll keeps the fat rolls melting away and gets you one step closer to obtaining a sizzling waistline, Which you will need to be able to fit into the smaller sizes that japan offers.
Now I'm not saying that I'm fat, its just that my modelling days for Calvin Klein have vanished into a distant memory. Staying at this hotel in Kyoto and enjoying keeping up a regular walking routine has helped me get in shape, even if i was walking straight into one of the many great Japanese pastry shops and delighting myself by chomping down on a creme filled, chocolate coated mini croissant.
Enjoy your stay here people, and while i can't provide any autographed posters of my modelling heyday, by staying at this hotel, you can say to your friends, "i think a Calvin Klein model stayed here".
Enjoy your stay,
