"New hotel near Monti district "
Hotel was very clean, updated, and had everything you needed. Compared to other hotels we stayed at in other areas of Italy that were 4 star, this was my least favourite due to location and overall vibe of the hotel. Not as fancy or hip as others we stayed in but still very nice.

"Great Location"
This hotel is very austere. The lobby is cold and rather uncomfortable. The restaurant was always empty, except at breakfast but the tables outside we're much nicer for just having a glass of wine. The bedroom is small and the road outside busy and fairly noisy but the location is it's big selling point. It's minutes from the forum and the coliseum and most other tourist sites.

"Nice hotel with a view of Santa Maggiore"
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The view is exactly as advertised, and the hotel was easy to get to. It is also within walking distance from many major sight seeing places. The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The bathtub, however, was very old, without a shower and without a curtain, of which there were no photos of on the website.

"Nice hotel close to Piazza Venezia."
Great front desk staff. Nice quiet room with two twin beds and great HVAC. Good buffet breakfast and selection of restaurants across Ponte Palatino in the Trastevere district. Nice view from the rooftop restaurant/bar but expensive to eat or drink. Not convenient if you want to take the metro directly from nearby the hotel.

"Need a large space? With an old school vibe."
This hotel is somewhat hidden, but in a location not that far away from the Colosseum/Forum. Meaning you can walk to both places. We actually walked almost everywhere from this hotel. Across the river is a lot of charming little restaurants. And 15 mins. you are at the Forum! It also has a elevator and a gym. BIG TIP: ALWAYS bring your own maps (that are in your language). Everyone kept handing up terrible maps in Italian. That was not helpful. See below for more.

Pocket Guide: Rome Colosseum 4 stars Hotels

The heart of Ancient Rome, all roads led to the Forum. Visitors flock here to walk the streets where Julius Caesar once trod when this was the centre of commercial, political and judicial life. Nearby, the Colosseum, described by Lord Byron as 'the gladiators' bloody circus', is the world's most famous amphitheatre and the most impressive of all Rome's buildings and ruins.
