"Right on the beach, in the rainy season"
I can see the appeal of this resort if you are going as a couple, and you mostly plan to stay holed up in your hotel room listening to the sound of the waves beat against the shore. The private beach, when available, is definitely also super relaxing. The problem is if you go during the rainy / flooding season. Then the beach is not available because it is too dangerous, and the pool is outdoors and not heated, so it is also of little good. You then find yourself on a resort with very little to do and with only one restaurant.
They do have happy hour every night, which is great, but they should expand happy hour during the rainy season. There's not much else to do when you can't go for a swim, hang out in a beach chair, or anything else outside. I had a great massage while there, and they did offer a buy one get one free one-hour massage, but the massage prices are quite expensive, especially for Vietnam. So, another thing they could do during rainy season is offer an incredible spa package.
Ultimately, I think this place could be amazing when its not raining, and I did have two days of no rain that were beautiful. However, it's boring beyond belief when it's raining (3 days of rain). I think the hotel should do a lot more to really classify itself as a resort, especially during the rainy season. They should also just think about building another restaurant and adding an indoor pool.
Of importance, though, the hotel staff was excellent. They were very sweet and helpful
