We chose this hotel for it's superlative location so the tired Old England Hotel was never going to disappoint. We found it amusing at first that the kitchen couldn't give us baked beans with our Full English Breakfast but that paled after two mornings. From this location we were able to visit Kendal, ...
I know this has nothing to do with the hotel but the noise of the night club near by was unbearable, and the people in the passage way shouting at 1.00 pm. I would only recommend this hotel during the week due to the noise. The room could do with updating in particular the bathroom.

Pretty hotel with excellent facilities and a friendly staff. Comfortable bed, but with a scratchy sheet, in a very small room.

Enjoyed a 4 night stay which my wife and I enjoyed greatly - the staff and amenities were excellent - high quality food and the hotel room was of a high standard - very clean and stunning views across the lake
