"Great hotel in a quiet spot "
This is our favourite corner of Venice. We've passed the hotel many times and discussed staying there. A much-needed short break off-season gave us the opportunity. We were greeted warmly at the desk and the concierge coped well with our attempts at Italian. Our room (no. 35) was on the second floor and had a great view of the canal and out across the Giudecca canal towards the Stucky building. The room itself wasn't large but perfectly adequate - after all, who goes to Venice and stays in their room? I found the bed a bit hard, but I have a bad back and am very particular about mattresses. It was lovely to wake up and hear the bells of the local churches, and see the locals going about their business. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive with excellent coffee, and is served until 10:00, which should allow for most guests' sleeping habits. The hotel is in a great location, only a ten minute walk from the transport hub at Piazzale Roma, and a short stroll from the Accademia Bridge and all the action (if that's what you want!); yet in a quier area well away from the crowds. Highly recommended.

"Excellent Hotel, Great Location"
Located feet from the Ca'Rezzonico vaporetto station (Line 1). The room was spacious and had a great view. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful in offering directions to museums and restaurants. Hotel was quiet; the walls are thick so you are unlikely to hear your neighbors. Breakfast is buffet-style with coffee provided to the table by a waiter. Generous breakfast hours. Good dining options nearby.

Pocket Guide: Venice City Center Dorsoduro 4 stars Hotels

Dorsoduro is home to the great art institutions of the Gallerie dell'Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the landmark church of Santa Maria della Salute. However those who take the time to explore the area, and particularly the eastern section, will find some of Venice’s most picturesque squares and alleys. The area also benefits from the influence of the university with some lively bars and nightlife (rare in Venice).
