"Perfect hotel for the Riverwalk"
Something for everyone. The suites are spacious and comfortable, the lounge has great ambiance and the rooftop pool is great in the summer. Our only complaint is is dim lighting in the bathrooms - makes it really difficult to put on makeup!

"Excellent location"
I splurged for the riverfront king, it was around $340 but it was for a special birthday. My only beef. I booked online, the picture of the room had a couch in it and looked much larger than the room I actually got. I asked but they were unable to change our room, since it was booked on expedia. Little disappointed to say the least, but we still had fun. Not sure any one night is worth $340, but the room was in an excellent location.

"Convenient To Convention Center, But Bring $$$$$$"
Valet Parking was efficient (charge $39.00 a night, so very pricey); check-in a little slow, but still pretty good. I was attending a convention at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, which is adjacent to the hotel, so very convenient for that. Also, the hotel is on the River Walk; but not the main part of it. Close to the River Center Mall and many eateries. The only restaurant in the Grand Hyatt is Ruth Chris Steak House, so again, very pricey. $12.00 for a so-so bowl of soup. One beer and one cocktail was $25.00, which I find completely ridiculous!! But then, no one forced us to eat/drink there! There is a very tiny coffee kiosk off the main lobby, which sells Starbucks Coffees. Since the hotel was full and several meetings and conventions in town, it was always very busy; but the employees handled it with ease. The kiosk also sells sandwiches, salads, cookies, muffins, and various drinks including milk and juices. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The room was kept clean. Bathroom door needs a coat of paint; but otherwise, can't find any fault with the accommodations. Overall, everything was good; just way over-priced, in my opinion.

"Pleasant stay at Mokara. INeedMoreRmforMyReview!"
I came here for to celebrate my bday with my boyfriend. I chose this hotel and spa based on the reviews and needless to say, I chose the best hotel in downtown San Antonio. Everyone starting from the bell boy was very professional and friendly. We were greeted with kindness. Our room was fantastic. We didn't have a great view, but I wasn't there for the view, rather the experience. Our room was very spacious, had a comfortable queen size bed, had a idea table/desk with plenty of room to eat our breakfast, and had a small chair in the corner. Our room had a bathtub with whirlpool capabilites and had a separate shower. Complimentary bath salt is included with the room and you have the option of calling a "Bath Butler" to draw your bath. The counter space in the bathroom was simply amazing. We had plenty of elbow room and space to lay out both of out toiletries. The toilet is in a separate room with a door so you can do your business while your significant other gets ready. All guests have complimentary tea and coffee. You can use Nespresso that is inside the room or call private dining to have a pot or cup of Peet's coffee brought to your room. Plenty of towels. Prompt room service. TV came with movie channels! While we were out of our room, house keeping made our bed, turned on our TV to relaxing music, and placed bottles of water and eye covers on both night stands. On the floor beside our bed were two complimentary slippers. Spa is a must. Superb steam room&sauna.

Pocket Guide: San Antonio Downtown - Riverwalk 4 stars Hotels

The languid San Antonio River and its famed River Walk connect many downtown attractions, including the Alamo Plaza and HemisFair Park. Built for the 1968 World’s Fair, HemisFair Park is the site of the 750-foot Tower of the Americas. Visitors, though, won’t forget the Alamo, site of the legendary 1836 battle between Mexican soldiers and Texan secessionists. Nearby, Mexican goods fill El Mercado.
