The Kompass hotel was very comfortable, the reception staff extremely helpful. We visited Dubrovnik in November so, as you can imagine, the town is pretty quiet, as most of the hotels are closed for the Winter. Nonetheless the weather was warm and the scenery there is stunning,

This is a family run apartment. Our stay was amazing. The owner makes you feel so welcome. She gives you info on places to go and where to eat. She gave us clementines from her own backyard and it was just a homey stay. Would definitely go back. Shes an amazing person. The room was clean and stocked with everything even kitchen supplies. It was like a studio apartment with a pool view. A plus indeed

The hassle of dragging your suitcase through the Old Town to the hotel is greatly outweighed by the convenience of being right there in the middle of it all. From this hotel, everything in the Old Town is just a few minutes walk. That said, it is in a very quiet part of the city so no disturbances when trying to sleep. Hotel staff was very friendly and quite helpful.

The staff was great. We arrived early and were accommodated quickly. They arranged for my 430 AM taxi to the airport with just a word. The rooms were clean. It looked like a great place to stay a few days, spacious, plenty hot water and water pressure in the shower. The place is as gorgeous as it looks in the pictures.
The only problems had to do with things that are related to location, being inside city walls in the old city. You do have to walk to the office and then to the appartment location. It's not far, but difficult if your tired and carry rather than roll your luggage. My room was on the top floor. I loved it, but it was the fourth floor, many stairs. Something to consider....there is a physical price you pay for the location. For me, it was a one night stay at the end of a 2 week vacation, so my choice may have been better at a hotel outside the walls, with taxi door to door and an elevator.
To see the city and stay a few days, it's an excellent choice

The reception staff was friendly and helpful: on arrival, they showed us to our rooms and supplied the things we had requested before our arrival. Somewhat surprised that the washing machine wasn't exclusive to each apartment as it meant timing your laundry with the occupants of the adjoining apartment.
The supermarket below was a useful facility, as were the coffee shops, bakery on the ground floor and restaurants by the beach.
The bus-stop on the doorstep of the apartment building was a big plus for trips to the old town.

An apartment with partially separated sleeping area and eating/kitchen area with its own bathroom, laundry room and large balcony that overlooks the island of Lokrum and the Old Town port. The apartment is very nicely decorated, has good storage facilities, well equipped kitchen and benefits from an efficient air conditioning system. The balcony gets the sun for most of the day but there is a blind that can be extended to give shade. The owner, Goldi, is very friendly and she responds very quickly to any email queries one might have. The only downside is that, in common with most of the properties in the area, there are a significant number of steps to climb from the lower road that leads to the beach and the Old Town (where the restaurants are). However, there is a local supermarket quite close (up only a comparatively small number of steps!).
