The Hotel Kompas was a good choice for us. The sea view was a knockout. The hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise. If you stay here you'll need transportation to visit the old city. Fortunately, the bus runs every 20 minutes. Sadly, construction next to the hotel woke us at 7:45 each morning. So, we were at breakfast early and on our way by 9:00. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Lovely period accommodation within short distance of attractions. We really enjoyed our visit and one week was more than enough. There are a lot of steps in Dubrovnik and you have to be quite mobile. Nearby are local stores and bakery for breakfast in apartment as it is self catering. Bad weather kept us in once got sick to death of sky and bbc news. Would have been good to watch a film.

Large, modern hotel with decent amenities, huge buffet breakfast with all the bread, meat, cheese, cereal, fruits, hot dishes, vegetables and just about anything else you could think of. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable for a multi-day stay.

Lovely big room overlooking the sea which was stunning. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. If your driving leave your car at the hotel and catch the regular number 6 bus in and out of Dubrovnik at 24 Kn return and buy tickets from reception. Nice area set aside to swim in the sea and Sun bath and adequate sized gym, indoor pool and sauna. Good choice at breakfast and evening meal time.

The staff was great. We arrived early and were accommodated quickly. They arranged for my 430 AM taxi to the airport with just a word. The rooms were clean. It looked like a great place to stay a few days, spacious, plenty hot water and water pressure in the shower. The place is as gorgeous as it looks in the pictures.
The only problems had to do with things that are related to location, being inside city walls in the old city. You do have to walk to the office and then to the appartment location. It's not far, but difficult if your tired and carry rather than roll your luggage. My room was on the top floor. I loved it, but it was the fourth floor, many stairs. Something to consider....there is a physical price you pay for the location. For me, it was a one night stay at the end of a 2 week vacation, so my choice may have been better at a hotel outside the walls, with taxi door to door and an elevator.
To see the city and stay a few days, it's an excellent choice

Perfect spot for old town and the old Harbour. It's an old apartment so there are plenty of stairs ! Be ready for that. It was 50 steps up to our apartment. Bring good walking shoes. Also bring your own bath soap, shampoo and kleenex as these things are not provided. Plenty of hot water and while the bathroom was tiny by north American standards it was clean and efficient.

Stayed in the historic Prijeko Palace for 3 nights in August 2016. The hotel is in a prime location 30 seconds off Stradun - that is indeed the best part. Also kudos to the staff who are extremely hard working and friendly, made for a truly memorable trip to Dubrovnik.
