"Best view in Reykjavik"
Borgthor ( the caretaker) was great, friendly and really helpful. The apartment is right on the harbour with a fabulous view over the water to the mountains on the other side, great open plan flat, well equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room with a great big tv ( to have Netflix and Wi-Fi was such a bonus to our teenage daughter ). The apartment is about 40-50 minutes drive from the airport and 20-30 minutes to the Blue Lagoon. There are restaurants literary at your door steps ( any of them serves great food ) and you can walk to all the shops. Big bonus was to have a parking in the underground garage with the remove control and a security lift key. Icelanders are very warm and kind people, very eager to help. We would love to come back in summer.

"Stylish, great location, exterior rms can be noisy"
Loved the hotel, its location and service. The airport bus dropped us a few blocks away so the location was great. It was also just one block away from the shopping and nightlife streets of Reykjavik. The Opera House, Hallgrimskirkja church and Perlan were a reasonable walk as were dozens of great restaurants. We also thought the service was excellent from breakfast to check in to help with tourist arrangements. They answered an email before check in promptly with very helpful information on renting a car in town and bus service to the Blue Lagoon from the hotel. Hotel breakfast is good but not extraordinary but service was friendly and helpful. Homemade waffles, eggs, bagels and coffee were all available. More than that but that's what we were focused on. The only thing that prevented me from giving it five stars was the noise level of the rooms. We had a fourth floor exterior room and it was noisy many times at night. It is close to a nightlife district so there were revelers most nights that we stayed there. It wasn't to the point that we didn't get any sleep but we were awakened several times each night. The solution is to ask for an interior room. You'll miss some fabulous views of the new Opera House but you'll sleep better.

"Convenient to everything in the heart o Reykjavik"
Draumholl Apartments has two units on Laugavegur. Due to the complexity of my trip, I stayed in both the one bedroom with double bed(white kitchen cupboards in the pics) as well as the two bedroom (bamboo finish kitchen cupboards, double bed in each room). Both are well situated in the centre of Reykjavik; one bedroom is next door to Hlemmur Square (convenient to quote for tour and shuttle pick ups) and the two bedroom is close to Noodle Station. Both units are kept impeccably clean, has full kitchen, a washing machine and reliable wifi. There is however, no cable tv. There is an English music video channel and several Icelandic channels that works but that's about it. Good idea to have an iPad or laptop with you if there are kids that need to be entertained and occupied. Three to five minute walk to Bonus Supermarket is a plus for doing groceries and cooking in the condo. Definitely good for families with children and those wishing to save a few dollars as well as those who enjoy the adventure of trying local foreign foods at the market. Since this is a condo, there is no 24/7 front desk. The day before our arrival, someone from Draumholl emailed us to set up a time to meet and disclosed the address. My contact was friendly and professional and answered our questions in the most courteous manner and even game us some photo tips for taking Northern Lights pictures. Draumholl does charge a cleaning fee after each reservation & will be added on top of your stay

"Fabulous hotel, quiet location, close to downtown"
exceptional customer service from a kind and informed staff, close enough to downtown Reykjavik and the major sites, but off the beaten path, so it was quiet, and intimate, like a well kept secret. The Gallery Bar was great, overall, the stay was a 5 star ecxperience.

"Comfortable hotel, conveniently located"
This was my first visit to Iceland and it was, on the whole, an enjoyable experience. Stayed at Room With a View on a recommendation. The location is ideal as it's in the center of downtown, easy walking distance to pretty much any of the myriad of restaurants, cafes, bookstores, nightclubs, museums and clothing stores. Reykjavik itself is a clean, modern city with tourists from all over Europe, the U.S. and Asia. The local Icelanders are friendly and helpful. If you like seafood, you will not be disappointed. Everywhere we ate, the food was fresh and well-prepared. The highly rated places were on par with similar restaurants in other cities, however I'd say the quality of the food was just as good at some of the smaller, lesser-known places, so you need not break the bank in order to eat well here. Buses that take you on the various day tours will usually pick you up right in front of the hotel, though if you're on a larger tour bus, they will drop you off several blocks away- about a five minute walk. The hotel is located right near several bar/restaurants so you will hear some of the revelry from your room, depending on which side you face. Personally, I did not find this to be a problem. The front desk people were, for the most part, helpful and friendly. You can book any of the day trips/ tours through them. The hardwood floors, high ceilings and recessed lighting are a nice touch. Our room had a nice shower and giant soaking tub with jacuzzi.
