"Spacious rooms, wonderful decor, comfortable beds."
All staff at the Suite Hotel Sofia (from front desk to maintenance, to restaurant) were very knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. I had quite a few requests at check-in and the front desk lady managed to grant them all, even if that meant upgrading me to a higher room standard in order to give me one on a higher floor, overlooking the Vitosha mountain. I was also pleasantly surprised that if you pay for breakfast, a light dinner was included as well. They call it light, but frankly, it was more than sufficient and mine consisted of a salad and a small plate of chicken medallions sprinkled with hollandaise sauce that came with a side of mashed potatoes - very delicious.
I had trouble with turning on the hot water in the shower, but 2 maintenance guys came up to my room and helped me very courteously.
The reason why I chose this hotel was because they allow early check-ins unlike many others I had called before I came upon this one. Just remember that if you check in as early as 7 a.m., for example, you need to check-out before 7 a.m. the next day, i.e. you have the room for exactly 24 hours, which wasn't a problem for us, since I had to catch a very early flight and had to vacate my room by 4:30 a.m. It worked for us, but you need to have that in mind in case you want to stay a little longer, otherwise there are surcharges you need to be aware of, so ask the front desk at check-in.
Overall, I was very happy with my stay and I plan to go there again on my next trip to Sofia.
