"Amazing; beyond expectations."
Staying at the Prestonfield House was the highlight of our trip to the UK. We felt like royalty since the minute we arrived. The members of the staff were extremely kind, helpful, and professional. The hotel and its surrounding areas are beyond beautiful (make sure to take a walk around the green areas). The room was absolutely charming and comfortable (we couldn't hear any noise, even though there were private parties at the hotel every night). Each and every single public room is uniquely and tastefully decorated with period details. The peacocks roaming freely around the green areas are a unique and delightful sight. And I should not forget to mention the daily (yes, daily!) bottle of champagne, cookies, and chocolates in our room. If you are not staying at the hotel, make sure to have dinner at the restaurant or go for afternoon tea--you will not regret it. We are planing a future vacation to Edinburgh just to stay at the Prestonfield House. Thank you for a unique and wonderful stay!

"Amazing apartment! Lovely stay!"
Beautiful stay at this apartment, even a nice welcome basket for us for breakfasts and snacks. It was in walking distance of the Royal Mile, and the staff all were nice, helpful, and made us feel special for staying with them.

"Great place to stay!"
Not a hotel, not a B&B; rather, staying here is like having an amazing, very large apartment in a great part of town. The accommodations are first class, spacious, clean, modern and very well-appointed, verging on luxurious; yet, the price was quite reasonable. We had a separate living room, with a dining area and a kitchen, a guest bathroom, and a separate bedroom with a closet and an adjacent, large bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful, but discreet and essentially unnoticed unless you seek interaction. We did not avail ourselves of the room service, because there is so much good food out there In Edinburgh, but I imagine, based on the attention provided to everything else, that the food would have been just fine. The location is great, in a peaceful, quiet, and lovely residential neighborhood filled with beautiful Georgian buildings, and numerous places to eat and drink, and it's an easy ten minute walk to the intersection of Princes Street and Lothian Road. If you like to walk, you can be at the Castle and its surroundings within 25 to 30 minutes. We highly recommend!

"Great location with pool etc in central Edinburgh"
We walked to this hotel from Haymarket and it was also easy to walk into the city centre. We normally stay at the Waverley end of Edinburgh but thought we would try somewhere different and had previously been to this hotel for a spa day, highly recommended. We had a nice big room with very comfy beds and very quiet. We weren't really in the hotel for very long as we were out alot during our 24 hr stay. We did notice that the shower head fitment was broken and I tried to have a bath but the water ran cold, not something you would have expected for the price we paid. Also, the bathroom layout is really odd, with an opaque sliding glass door at one end and another door at the other end which also can close off the toilet. Also the very high tech lighting system was rather unnecessary, you don't really need the myriad of options for subdued lighting in a hotel bathroom that were on offer!

"Quiet, quirky"
Absolutely the most quiet rooms, beautiful bathrooms, comfortable beds. Bathroom floors are heated. The staff are friendly. Most are not Scottish...some do not speak English as well as one would expect of a hotel of this quality. The major problem with this hotel is that you enter the lobby at ground level and have to take an elevator to the third level. After a long walk, you come to a lovely fire pit and bar, but then you have to walk down either one or two levels to your room. There is no elevator access to this part of the hotel and bags must be carried by the bellhop. Don't forget something in your room as it can be a VERY long walk back. There is an elevator, but it has been broken for 6 weeks, which, again, is unacceptable for a property of this stature. I was told that my expectations were out of line because this was a boutique hotel. Two terrific concierges. Both that I used were knowledgeable and helpful as were desk staff when the concierge was busy helping someone else. Hotel is in a great location, very near the Royal Mile, good restaurants, and the theatre.

"Great location, but don't stay here for the food"
Lovely staff, especially Thomas, the Concierge. Location is great, near train station. Small room, but it's the food that's the biggest challenge. Powdered eggs are not acceptable in any restaurant, especially the Waldorf. Lunch and dinner were equally disappointing.

"Great breakfast service and good location."
Great stay for 3 nights near golf courses of our choice. Hotel served a nice breakfast made to order. Staff was very helpful and attentive. The hotel has a little bit of a B & B atmosphere, but of the highest quality. Bathrooms were updated and had an awesome shower! Room was very comfortable but not overly large. We saw guests coming for their tea over the weekend, too.

Edinburgh is a city of undeniable character and historic importance. Travelers arrive 365 days a year to visit the city’s landmarks, take part in its many festivals and experience authentic Scottish culture. It has a number of exquisite 5 star hotels for those looking to make their stay extra special.

    City Centre Attractions

Whether you are walking up the famous Royal Mile towards Edinburgh Castle or strolling through rows of townhouses and secluded parks in the Georgian New Town, Edinburgh will delight and surprise you. Stay in style at one of the city’s luxury hotels as you explore the famous streets and attractions of the Scottish capital.

Like Edinburgh born author Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous novel Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the iconic centre of Edinburgh has two distinct sides. The difference here being that both the Old and the New Town are absolutely lovely.

    Old and New

Containing magnificent buildings like Edinburgh Castle, St Giles Cathedral and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh’s Old Town has preserved much of its medieval street plan, giving it an antique feel.

Often considered a masterpiece of city planning, construction of Edinburgh’s New Town began at the end of the 18th Century. Cultural highlights include the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on Queen Street and the Royal Botanic Gardens on Arboretum Place.

For an unforgettable luxury city break, book yourself a 5 star accommodation in Edinburgh.
