We stayed here after getting off the Spirit of Tasmania. It was quite close and easy to get there. Thankfully parking cost nothing because we arrived on Saturday night and the meters don't operate on Saturday night and on Sundays.
The room was small but all we needed. The bathroom was modernised but very small.
We had dinner outside on the pavement, bought from the bar and the food was good.
In the morning we had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good.
There is no lift and the narrow width of each stair means you have to tread carefully.
Our bed was one of those wooden bases that sits the mattress into it. The sharp corners were jutting out and, as the room was small, my husband and I are sporting a number of nasty bruises on our shins!

We walked into the city and to the MCG. Parking out the front was easy (on public holidays so also free). Room was clean and well presented. Able to relax and enjoy our break, our sons (12 & 13) had no problem walking into the city and then out to the MCG and them home - easy to get to everything. Didn't get to the National Gallery of Victoria, but walked past it many times. Easy walk to Southbank.
Staff were wonderful - encouraged the boys to borrow the DVDs in their library, had a list of restaurants that were open over the Christmas break, and happy to let us know what else was available to see.

Stayed for 1 night in twin room, loverly new & clean rooms. But no tea/coffee facilities, no refrigerator, no wardrobe or extra pillow/blankets. Which I believe all are needed to make the stay more comfortable.
