A Surprise Charge (hold) on my checking account.

The stay was fine except a surprise $50 hold charge on my checking account for incidental charges that I might incur. I wasn't informed of this charge by Hotels.com. The $50 charge will be removed by my bank (not the Hampton Inn) when a follow up charge is not received by my bank. So stupid. If they can put a $50 hold on my account, they can do a $50 credit on my account when I check out. This put a bad taste in my mouth. This $50 charge could take up to 10 days to be removed. Not good.

Great Stay

Very friendly and helpful staff, including the maid service. The beds were the most comfortable ones we have ever slept on. Having a refrigerator and microwave in the room were great. The free breakfast was excellent and a great convenience when you have small children with you.

Missed the Mark

The first night the room was not made up. When I called the desk, she said she would notify house keeping and they would take care of it. After waiting an hour with no service, I went down to the desk and was informed there were no housekeepers on duty and they would clean the room the next morning. He acted like that should make me happy. I have never experienced such incompetent service before at a Hilton property.

Cons: N/A
Location: Lots of retail stores within walking distance. Plus stores within short driving distance.
We went to the race at Darlington. Perfect location for us, about 1 hour out from the track. Was very surprised by how many businesses were with in walking distance, and number of restaurants we had to choose from. The staff was very friendly, answered all of our questions without hesitation. Definitely will stay here again.
