Dear guest, Our restaurant is only open for hotel guests. Because your girlfriend was not a hotel guest, the receptionist did the right thing by not agreeing to it. Of course you were still welcome to stay the night, but unfortunately you didn't want to use it anymore

The hotel is in the centre of Zutphen, 10 minutes walk from the train station, as far as I am aware, there is no other hotel in Zutphen which is so convenient. The building is old but the rooms have modern facilities.

The hotel staff are very welcoming. I booked a single room which often is a double but single occupancy. This was a small single room on the ground floor. It was clean and tidy and suited what I booked but a little more space would have been more pleasant. Having said that I would definitly book a single at this hotel again.

Excellent price-quality ratio but bad Internet
I had to stay in Zutphen for a business stopover, and this hotel was perfectly located - only a 10 minute pleasant walk from the railway station. The hotel itself is a beautiful property which is currently being renovated. Major parts of the hotel have already been completed, but some of the rooms not yet (including mine). However, the room was adequate and clean, and there were also lots of power outlets. The bed was very comfortable, everything was in working order. My room was very quiet, and the windows were very well isolated (both for noise and temperature). The location of the hotel in Zutphen (which itself is a very pretty town to visit) is excellent, with everything within walking distance. There are several cafés, bars, restaurants and shops in the immediate neighbourhood (but be aware that restaurants close very early in Zutphen!). Give the price of the room, I found the price-quality ratio excellent. Two complaints: - [Minor] the (optional) breakfast was rather frugal. For €16.50 one could expect a bit more variety. - [Major] the (free) Internet was very slow. As I work in the sector of the Internet business, I investigated this and discovered that the cause was a filter against adult content! Every page was obviously screened against certain parameters, and some rejected, resulting in terrible performance (Skype being impossible). I felt like I was in Iran, Saudi-Arabia or China! This is unacceptable for a European hotel!

Well managed hotel in center of historic town.
The hotel is well managed and the staff are friendly and pro-active. There are good restaurant facilities, but be aware of the Dutch tradition of eating very early in the evening. (If you have travelled for hours to get there, don't expect to have dinner in Zutphen much after 21-00!). The rooms are quiet and of reasonable size. Minus points are foam filled pillows and in our room a quite ineffective shower. The decor throughout the hotel is somber and rather 'tired'.

CENTRE OF ALL SHOPS & PUBS
We found the hotel clean and being in the centre of town, it was great to hire bikes and tour round the streets! We would stay here again!

Zutphen village hotel
Zutpen is beautiful and on weekends your are entertained by bells from the three village churches. Friendly people. The Hampshire Hotel has two excellent restaurants and across the square is a Michelin starred restaurant. The hotel staff is efficient. Regretfully the room at the hotel was not up to the surroundings. Clean, but not in the best of condition. Internet was not available in the room unless you had an ethernet port. I was disappointed.

A high end hotel
This hotel was quite lovely. It took us a bit to find it because it is near the City but the location itself was not too bad when we found it. You get the elegant feeling as you entered the hotel, reception a was quite inviting. The spa and sauna were refreshing, the breakfast was delicious and the restaurant has a romantic ambiance. I love everything about this hotel and I would have extended my stay except they were fully booked. I recommende this hotel highly for the price that I got it for it was a special bargain. Apparently I got the last available room for the price,

Enigszins gedateerde (comfort) room. Erg laag toilet. Krappe kamer. Smalle gangen. Om 10:00 uur moet het ontbijt naar binnen zijn gewerkt, dus een keertje uitslapen is er niet bij. Tijdens ons verblijf werd er buiten geschilderd waardoor er een hoge steiger en hoogwerker voor het raam stonden... Hadden we graag van te voren geweten...

Het was niet schoon. Tv smartTV geblokkeerd. Niet passeren, steamen, enz. Kortom zwaar verouderd waterkoker vol kalkaanslag, tandpasta op de badkamervloer en zelfs een dopje op de grond. Kamer in zijvleugel, aanbouw en gedateerd. Kortom geen waarde voor je geld. Veel te duur voor wat je krijgt.

Mooi oud hotel. Ik had een eenpersoonskamer. Minimaal ingericht. Ik miste een föhn. De doucheruimte: heel klein. Iemand met obesitas zou zich niet kunnen omdraaien. De wc-rol hing aan de verkeerde kant. Als ik een papiertje moest pakken, trok ik gelijk door omdat dan mijn rug tegen de spoeling kwam. Niet zo handig. En...het kost veel water. Geen beschrijving hoe de airco werkt, hoe het raam opengaat. De wifi viel steeds weg, zodat ik in 2 dagen 2x beltegoed op mijn telefoon moest zetten (€25.) Een klerin prullenbakje op elke ontbijttafel zou reuze handig zjn...Het ontbijt was overigens prima! Verder heb ik geen klachten. Reuze vriendelijk personeel.

De kamers zijn vrij basic ingericht, maar wel met de faciliteiten die u mag verwachten van een 4 sterren hotel, spijtig dat u niet aangeeft wat u mist, wellicht kunnen we dat in overweging nemen om toe te voegen aan de kamer. We hebben 2 netwerken in ons hotel, een beveilgd netwerk en 1 open netwerk, met tevens extra routerversterkers in het gehele hotel, erg vervelend dat de WIFI bij u niet werkte, ik kan daar ook geen verklaring voor vinden. Dank voor het compliment voor het ontbijt (ook al misste er een afvalbakje) en de vriendelijke medewerkers.

Onze éénpersoonskamers zijn circa 15m2 en standaard tweepersoonskamers crca 20m2, op zich prima afmetingen maar wellicht oogt de kamer klein vanwege de grote meubelen, er zijn grotere kamers met een toeslag op basis van beschikbaarheid. We hebben geprobeert om de kamers zo handig mogelijk in te delen, juist vanwege de beperkte ruimtes, spijtig dat u daar een andere mening over hebt.

We kregen een zeer kleine kamer met een heel laag plavond. Er kon geen raam open, de tv zat aan de zijkant en de douche in een badkuip. Kortom, niet best.

Beste, wat spijtig te lezen dat u uw verblijf als niet best heeft ervaren. Op sommige kamers moet er nog in bad gedoucht worden, maar een groot aantal kamers beschikken ook over een ruime inloopdouche. Op elke kamer kan er een raam open, een medewerker had u met alle plezier geholpen. Ik zou zo even niet weten over welke kamer u het heeft met een verlaagd plafond, alle tweepersoonskamers zijn minimaal 20m2, op zich is dat een prima afmeting, maar wellicht oogde de kamer wat klein vanwege de grote meubelen.

Het pand is matig onderhouden. Slecht schilderwerk, gore gevel etc. De kamer is ondoelmatig ingericht. De grootte van de kamer hoeft geen beletsel te zijn voor een praktische indeling.
