Hotel near the acropolis

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Very convenient and safe location just a few steps to the Acropolis museum, beautiful entrance, nice rooms and friendly staff. If I had a room with a better view (I was on the inside so only had buildings around) and some items in the bathroom were more modern, I'd give it a 5/5!

Small, quite conveniently located hotel

Posted Nov 4, 2017
Pros: It was small (38 rooms), quiet, and very conveniently located close to the Acropolis and the beautiful Acropolis
Cons: The tub in the bathroom, which was also provided with a shower, was somewhat difficult to get into. Another safety bar would be useful.
I made reservations for two couples for four nights in the Hera Hotel which I located on Trip Advisor. We were finishing a Viking Cruise in Athens and wished to spend time exploring the city and the countryside with a rented car and driver, which we did.

Excellent hotel close to the Acropolis

Posted Oct 21, 2017
Pros: Convenience, friendliness and peaceful.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Visit the Acropolis and new museum, walk up to the Pynx and the Agora, go to the museums, easy and cheap access to Piraeus and great restaurants nearb
Great city break here as it is accessible both to the sites, Piraeus and Airport.

do NOT stay in a room ending in 01.

Posted Oct 6, 2017
Pros: this hotel is in the perfect location for acropolis, museum, subway & restaurants.
Cons: better attention to supplies. ran out of TP, never had an coffee in room, even tho there is a coffee maker.
Location: acropolis, museum, zeus, tree lined walkway with restaurants; about 20 minute walk to monastriki thru plaka.
we traveled with friends, so when we were assigned rooms, I was disappointed to discover that they had room with a view of the acropolis. after check-in, expedia sends you an email asking how things went. I answered that I was unhappy with the assignment since we had paid for the rooms & at check-in, perhaps their desk staff might have paid more attention when handing out room keys. Hera hotel response said we booked 2 standard room & we got that; standard rooms with view are on floors 4&5. evidently the responder has not been into the rooms since their next door room did have a view. rooms ending in 01 have a building right next door & no view - even higher floors will have to contend with the building. hera email indicated all you have to do is ASK for a higher floor for a view. worse - when checking out, the little man at the desk thought it was a good time to comment that I complained and what did I think the hotel was supposed to do? bad manners asking with other people in the lobby, and why didn't the hotel offer to change our room when I responded within hours after check-in? I told him many people would see my comments so he tried to turn it into something regarding people and negative public comments, finally told him that was not the time to have that discussion. the room is VERY small - 2 people cannot pass each other. but it is clean. go to rooftop restaurant at night rather than run around town looking for a night view of the acropolis & lights.
Comment from Hotel Management

Dear guest, Thank you for staying with us during your visit in Athens. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Hera Hotel. So sorry to read about your comments on the room allocation upon your arrival. Indeed the other room has a slight better view than yours. What I can I say, is that both rooms were randomly allocated uponarrival date . Payment is not a room allocation criterion, as we always try to offer the best available rooms to all our guests. However, in your case we couldnt even know since your rooms were prepaid by Expedia. We are sorry that you felt that the front desk agent was not polite. As young and enthusiastic, we assume he tried to see what was your issue and solve it if possible. The reason , however, we didnt change you rooms was that we were fully booked with all other rooms already occupied. In any case, we are sorry that you felt we didnt respond to your request . Once again, thank you for staying with us, and hope that we shall have the pleasure to welcome you again and offer you the right room :)

Clarify airport transfer

Posted Oct 2, 2017
We changed our airport transfer from 6 to 4 people, but did not clarify we no longer needed a mini-van. We were charged thevrate for 6, however the hotel compromised a bit on the fee. I highly recommend guests receive a confirming email with details specified. Otherwise, the hotel was great. Great location!!! Everything was in walking distance.

Hera Hotel

Posted Aug 28, 2017
The Hera was the last leg of our vacation! You don't have to leave but if you must, near shopping, metro station, cafes & Acropolis. The staff spoke English were helpful with directions and were very accommodating. Our room was for 3 Adults great size , large bathroom and patio with Acropolis view. Breakfast buffet was extremely generous & delicious served in the atrium . Peacock restaurant is a must for dinner with delectable choices for every palate and breath taking view of the lit Acropolis at night ! Great Photo op!

Spent two nights at the hotel before taking a cruise. Wonderful location within walking distance of everything we wanted to see without the need for cabs. All staff members were very accommodating and their dining recommendations were perfect

Extremely nice hotel in a great and safe location. Beautiful romantic restaurant on the roof where you can see the Parthenon. Fantastic service and friendly staff. Cute balcony. No complaints whatsoever.
