Stayed in other 5 star hotels in Adelaide

This place was good but compared to other 5 star hotel in Adelaide was only about 4 star. For the price we paid it was good value. The biggest annoyance to me was the stupid coffee cups in the room no choice of having a mug to drink from. I was not impressed with breakfast is was no where near the standard of other 5 star hotel in Adelaide that we have stayed

Price competition ...

Pros: Good location ... nice furnishings ... quiet rooms.
Cons: Rooms are looking tired ... walls need re-papering and doors and architraves need painting.
Location: Lots to do on the north side of the CBD ... parks, gardens, sports, museum, conventions and restaurants.
The Intercontinental is a lovely full-service hotel in a nice location on the river-side of the Adelaide CBD. The furnishings are lovely but the doors, walls and fittings are showing signs of age. Adelaide is not a busy town. Occupancy rates on average are low and hotel prices are too high. As a general rule, there is a lot of room for price negotiation at this end of the market. It's good that travel sites like Expedia have helped make lower prices more visible ... but it's time for Expedia to exert some market muscle and buy rooms based on volume sales and pass them on at an even lower price. The ICH group has multiple hotel brands to help protect price. It's time to push through their game and get better value for consumers.

Pros: Comfortable bed Great bath
We stayed at the Intercontinental to celebrate a birthday. We happened to mention this as we checked in and were given a drink voucher for two.

Amazing hotel

From the minute we got out of the taxi to the checkout we were looked after with everything we could ask for .Staff were attentive overall amazing hotel .We were so happy with the hotel that after our flight got cancelled we came back the same night and spent another night .thank you.

good location, room very small

very central location, overlooking river but room is very small for a 5* hotel., look more like a 3* hotel

Weekend stay

Close to everything. Breakfast was amazing, even gluten free choices. Waited awhile for our cocktails. Room was lovely. Nothing really to complain about.

Centrally located

Pros: location
Located on North Terrace, perfect for sport , arts and eateries. We went for the AFL this time. Could not have been better.

Excellent location and service

We had a wonderful stay at the intercontinental Adelaide. This hotel is close to all amenities. The staff are all dedicated especially Manish Agarwal.

To upgrade or not to upgrade

Pros: Most of the time the door was opened for us
Cons: Inform customers of special offers don't pressure
Location: Right next to the casino and only a tram ride to the Central Market
Overall the hotel was fine, felt a little pressure when checking in to upgrade to some lounge on the 21 floor at $160 per night and we would receive a better room, didn't do the upgrade and was given probably the lowest grade room available but i suppose someone has to stay there. From the money I spend I felt I didn't get value for money. Won't stay there again.

Excellent comfortable and clean

Pros: Very impressive atrium, rooms very spacious, excellent food, near to amenities and central
Cons: Still think there should be a power shower in room, but that is honestly all I can suggest
Location: Very central, near to shopping, clubs,pubs and theatres
Excellent stay, only stayed there two weeks prior with my daughter, had the oportunity to return with my husband. Great staff everything you could need is available. Very enjoyable.....
