Great escape from cityPosted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: Surroundings, quiet, large size of accommodation with lots of extras and great hosts.
Location: Went on a house tour of The Cedars. House still owned by they family of the artist. Full of great art by Hans Heysen.
I very much enjoyed my stay. Amble Over is a large sized apartment suitable for a long stay. It was a bit like living in a tree house with beautiful views/trees all around. Bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed seeing all of the native birds out the back. The hosts go out of their way to make the guests feel welcome, but I appreciated the fact that breakfasts could be made in the room. Roger very helpful in getting me to and from the city for a pre-booked event during my stay. Suggest contacting him in advance if you have transport or tour needs.

Much needed relaxing getaway in beautiful gardens.Posted May 5, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: The peace, proximity, and the high standard of the room. And the ability to enjoy Amble Over as if it was our own private residence.
Location: Within walking distance of all that the main street of Hahndorf has to offer (and that's a lot!) including many excellent restaurants and shops.
Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful room, lovely views and a short walk to the middle of everything. Our hosts were excellent: gave us clear directions about how to get there late at night after our planes were delayed, and even offered to collect us from the airport. And when we arrived everything was ready for us to come in, relax and unwind - including an excellent selection of Teas and Coffee, some tasty local treats, and some much appreciated local Port. Having the 'breakfast basket' already in the room made it very easy to have a relaxing breakfast at the time that suited us - and after a late arrival the night before, with the peace and quiet, we'd slept through much of the morning! And when we did open the curtains, the views across the fields were only interrupted by lots of colourful galahs, lorikeets and other birds.

Comfort in Mount Barker!Posted Apr 24, 2013
Pros: Comfort & size
Cons: Gorgeous linen, though not for me.
Extremely comfortable home with extras not normally offered. Beds of high quality. Location just out of shopping area, but we found this to be perfect as you need a car to really get around anyway. Owners Roger & Di are lovely to deal with. If in Mount Barker, this is the place to stay for me. Sylvia
