This is a historic property in a not so historic area. My family spent two days in this place. We were concerned when we were coming close to the hotel because we did not realize that is in the outskirts of Siracusa, in an area filled with non-impressive apartment buildings. However, when we entered the property, we were pleasantly surprised. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is an historic building with a lot of character. Our room and its decoration were very impressive. The hotel has a restaurant about which we didn't care much. The meal we ate from them was mediocre, at best. The included breakfast is very good, with a lot of choices. There is a pool that looked very nice but we did not use it because we were busy visiting Ortigia. By the way, you need a car to go to Ortigia from this hotel or rely on public transportation. Overall, we had a good time and definitely would go back to this hotel.

We loved the walking distance to the main area in Lipari, the pool and the dining discounts. The staff was so very kind and helpful. Our room had a very large terrace and the bed was comfortable.

The property is in a great location, walking distance to the town. Maria at the front desk was very helpful. We loved the room with the sea view and the large terrace was great to sit on in the afternoon and enjoy a glass of wine. Great selection for Breakfast, Pool was lovely. Would recommend this hotel

Wonderful stay in Lipari
Love this hotel. This was our second time staying here and it does not disappoint. Very friendly staff both within the hotel and the restaurant. Good breakfast. Large spacious bathroom and bedroom with lovely balcony overlooking the sea. Lovely pool area. Great restaurant. Only about a 10 minute walk from the port where the ferry drops off. Will definitely be returning!

Spacious clean rooms lovely property with great staff. Large terrace balcony with sea view wonderful for enjoying glass of wine. Wonderful breakfast buffet In beautiful terrace setting. Although we did not utilize the pool in looked lovely. Robes for relaxing in room a bonus and property located a short walk to main commerce streets and harbor.

Beautiful hotel. Lovely room with sea view. Great breakfast. We ate in the restaurant twice. The food was superb. The first time everything was perfect with great service. However the second time was not so good. We were left with only bread and water for 50 minutes before our order was taken. However when the food arrived it was delicious. The hotel also provided a picnic breakfast for our early ferry. Staff were really helpful especially reception, pool bar and housekeeping.

I was delighted with my stay at Hotel Mea. It is a lovely hotel: beautiful view, fantastic location, great pool (and pool area), comfortable rooms nicely decorated and lovely gardens. You really get the feeling of it it being a boutique hotel. Their Covid-secure measures are visible, effective and reassuring but clearly designed to have minimal impact on their guests’ stay. But above all, it is the staff who make this a fantastic hotel to stay at - both within the hotel and the restaurant, Chimera. I cannot recommend highly enough.

The room was quite small but adequate. Loved the personal outdoor space. The pool including the girl at the pool bar was very nice except for the flies which I realize it not the hotel's fault but not sure if anything could be done about it.

Aeolian charm in Lipari
We had a room with a wonderful view from a shared terrace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. The pool was very nice although a little cool. Traffic noise on the road beside the hotel was the only downside.

Ideal for exploring the island
Late season so not too busy. We underestimated the distances to other islands, particularly Stromboli, some four hours by boat and a nine hour round trip was too much of a stretch however much we wanted to visit.

Our stay at hotel Mea was amazing! Upon arrival the staff was so welcoming and helpful. We got a free upgrade as it was our honeymoon too! The location is perfect and the pool and facilities were gorgeous.

Booked superior double with sea view.. on check in we were given room at end of hotel adjacent a main road so it was very noisy. We told them we were not happy and fortunately they moved us into central location overlooking pool -room 208.. it was great. Location was good 5-10 minute stroll downhill to old town. Staff at front desk elusive at times-tried to get pool towels with no response. In general it was clean and comfortable

his hotel has such elegance in its decor and a special charm delivered from the helpful staff. Sarah (the precious owner) and Giuseppe (front desk) went above and beyond providing services to navigate my travels. This took time and effort and it was so appreciated. The hotel: situated on top of a hill high enough to have a beautiful sea view, but able to walk to with bags from the port if needed. There is a free pickup/ drop off, but I didn’t know until after i booked. The main attractions are walkable, 10-15 min away. The rooms have a modern decor. Very clean, great big towels, tile floors, great patio. I had a garden view- and it was so relaxing. The pool is amazing. If I had time, I’d lounge all day there! Lastly, the restaurant is one of the best on the island. Excellent food with an outdoor sea view setting to die for! I learned that this hotel has 2 other properties, one located on Vulcano called “Hotel Garden”. If you visit this island, it’s worth staying at this hotel for the service, the beautiful landscaped garden terrace, and the happy hour! Lastly, rent a scooter from the port and drive around the island at sunset! It only takes approximately 2 hours! You can’t go wrong with this hotel! It’s a special one worth staying.

Nice hotel 5 mins walk from beach
My husband, 16year old son and I stayed for four nights at Hotel Mea. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a lovely balcony with a wide view of the ferry port. The breakfast was excellent. It was about fifteen minutes walk to the other attractive port, square, cafes and museum towards the other end of the shopping strip.

We got to the hotel very hot and bothered after a horrible day of trying to use public transport on a public holiday. The reception staff couldn't have been nicer or more empathetic and instantly put us at ease. The room was very spacious with a view out to the sea. We had a very relaxing stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I would also strongly recommend paying the extra for the seaview rooms as it makes a huge difference to your stay for the little extra it costs.

Overall wonderful!!
Despite a glitch where the room we had paid for 5 months earlier was not available, the hotel made their mistake good for us. We were upgraded to a sea view room instead of a garden view & the hotel paid for our dinner that evening. The staff were wonderful esp. Fabiolla who took care of our room. All-in-all a wonderful stay & I would recommend this hotel as the place to stay in Lipari

Nice hotel, close to the port. Within walking distance, no need for a cab. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very welcoming. Two negative points: 1- wifi is terrible. Good connection available only in the lobby. 2- breakfast is poor. Though you can just go to a cafe in the Main Street. Still would book this place again. Is very comfortable and convenient hotel.

Peaceful island hotel with great views
Loved Lipari. We spent several days diving with La Gorgonia dive centre, who were very good (but don't expect fluent English). Local buses easy to use to get to the other small seaside towns - particularly liked Acquacalda, very quiet but with a couple of nice seafront restaurants. Ate in the hotel a couple of times, but there are lots of good places in town to eat too. We plan on going back soon.

Greeted in my native french by the maitre d'hotel, who took time to explain the ins and outs of the place and the downtown core. Rooms were clean, spacious with a huge terrasse... the bed was a bit hard, but I've come to expect that from Sicilian beds in every hotel here! Breakfsst was abundant, diverse and very good. All in all hotel Mea is a great place to stay!

Fabulous hotel
We stayed at the Hotel Mea, Lipari for 10 nights at the end of June 2015. This is a small boutique hotel and it didn't disappoint. We had a superior sea view room which was on the top floor of the hotel with a fantastic views of the main port area of Lipari. We would recommend the sea view rooms over the garden rooms firstly for the view but also because the sea view rooms are shaded in the afternoon so are perfect for sitting out on after a day sightseeing or lounging by the pool. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We had booked bed and breakfast and this is the best option as it gives you the chance to eat out at some of the many lovely restaurants in Lipari. Our Italian is very limited but the 2 best meals we had were at restaurants (Restaurant 25 and Trattoria del Vicolo) where the staff didn't speak much English, we took a leap of faith with ordering the food and were well rewarded with lovely meals. We would definitely return to Lipari and to the Hotel Mea

Wonderful hotel in Lipari
Stayed three April nights at this wonderful small hotel overlooking the harbor at Lipari. Short walk to the center of town (5 to 10 minutes), and therefore close to ferries, etc., but far enough away from central activity to be quiet. Seafront rooms cost a little more, but the scenery is worth it. Hotel is white everywhere, and spotless. All rooms have a patio or terrace with "garden" or sea views. Rooms are large and well-appointed. Very helpful staff. Large dining room includes an adjacent sunroom. Generous breakfast buffet. Prix fixe 3-course dinner menu each evening is excellent. Would stay here again, and highly recommend.

The Mea hotel was a very good surprise for our stay in Lipari. We ate in an excellent restaurant in the hotel and the rooms were spacious and very confortable with Wi Fi. A very personalised atention.
