Lovely island, peaceful and quiet.

Aktaion hotel was a lovely experience on the whole. The staff were excellent the facilities were good and the food was great. The island was beautiful and there were many and varied places to eat. We would recommend the Aktaion, Hotel Oasis and Alter Ego for food and entertainment. Aegina was a lovely day trip. The beach was very clean and very safe for children, clear shallow waters, perfect for young children.
We did think that the prices for food and drink were very expensive. Coffees were over €3 and ice creams €2-€6
Generally a very Greek Island with many local Greeks on holiday. English is spoken throughout.
Our maisonette in Aktaion II looked lovely, however the electrics were dangerous-exposed wiring in many rooms including both bathrooms. The extractor fan had melted inside and when we used the jacuzzi bath (half full) it flooded the floor from underneath so we couldn't use it. We felt the mezzanine floor was very unstable and poorly built. It had obviously been damaged before and patched up. It was being supported by a few undersized bolts and we felt it is a matter of time before it gives way. We decided to sleep downstairs.
