Pros: This is the last operating hotel from Aiken's heyday as a winter resort for the country's wealthiest and most famous people. As can be seen from the photos it maintains the charm of the era.
Cons: I was entirely happy with the room and it's amenities. Others may want a little more.
Location: The Hotel Aiken is located downtown within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants and interesting shops. Also close by is the Aiken Museum.

Old Hotel

Posted Apr 12, 2016
Pros: The hotel has a massive amount of potential. The woodwork, the stairs, the old operated elevator.
Cons: The cleanliness and the ill repair.
Location: The location is beautiful. The main road going thru Aiken is so pretty. We stayed there just one night to attend the Masters.
Everyone was really nice but the state of the building was terrible. It was poorly cared for. The wooden doors were rotted at the bottoms, the carpet was dirty, the furniture in the room was really beat up. Walls needed to be scrubbed down. Glass doors and windows needed to be cleaned. It must have been some magnificent property at some point. It's a shame someone doesn't buy it and restore it to its original glory.

Needs Work

Posted Apr 9, 2016
Pros: Staff Friendliness
Cons: The entire hotel needs to be completely updated, inside and out!
Location: Tons of shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed "Bradley", "CasaBella" and "Malia". All great choices for dinner.
The hotel itself is old and in need of a total renovation!! The staff, however are top notch. Friendly and helpful, always smiling and making you feel very welcome. The breakfast buffet included homemade banana fritters, nice touch. The location couldn't be better, park the car and walk to all the shops and restaurants you could want!!

Sleepless night

Posted Apr 8, 2016
Hotel Aiken was a real disappointment. Although it is in an ideal location in charming downtown Aiken, the rooms are not comfortable and desperately need upgrading. But the worst part of the stay was the extremely loud, rowdy Karaoke bar that did not close until two in the morning. I felt like I was trying to sleep in a fraternity house. When we called the front desk to complain, they were most unhelpful. Will never stay here again!

Only worth going there for the Masters

Posted Apr 7, 2016
Pros: Location. Breakfast was above average. Staff was friendly. Free massage in lobby.
Cons: Needs a major facelift.
Location: Bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Rough property. Rooms are dark and worn out. Bar location is not ideal as it blasted music through the night. The only redeeming quality is this property is down town and near Augusta.

Nightmare in South Carolina!

Posted Apr 6, 2016
Pros: There was absolutely nothing good about this place.
Cons: This place is a lost cause.
I had reservations for a two night stay. Did not stay the second night. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

In the heart of Aiken

Posted Jan 9, 2016
Pros: Located in Center of Aiken
Cons: Outdated
Location: Aiken Brewery. Eclectic shops on Lauren's Ave. Nice people in Aiken
An older hotel. Possibly in need of renovation. Checked in after New Years. Nice people at front desk. Room was clean yet badly needed fleshing up. Old television. Dark furniture. Needed maintainable on outside decks. Pressure washing on decks. Replace burnt out light bulbs. Got the picture?

old town Aiken

Posted Sep 11, 2015
Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: close to all the old town shops and restaurants
Unique experience, vintage hotel with a lot of history...especially the elevator. Really the only hotel in downtown Aiken and a great way to experience the downtown. Great breakfast but the facility could use some upgrading.
