Bertram Inn is so beautiful! It has the look of a medieval castle inside the lobby with a suit of armor and all, which the kiddos greatly appreciated!

This place was a beautiful getaway! We can wait to come back in the summer time and bring the kids! This place was so fancy and the history adds to the nostalgia!! Best place we've ever stayed at and we'll worth the money!

I checked in around 5:00 PM and left about 20 min later. Came back about 10:30 PM . The room was cold 62 degrees. I kept turning up the heat but after an hour it was only 64. I called front desk and they looked for another room ( the night girl was very pleasant and helpful) At midnight I was moved to a warm room. In the AM , in my room I stepped on a stink bug . I told the gentleman at the front desk and he said “ welcome to Ohio “ Ummm stink bugs should be hibernating this time of year . I wasn’t offered any compensation for the inconve

Very unclean room and other issues
I made a call to the front desk first night I stayed and discovered white crusty substance on the fitted sheet. Sinks did not drain either. No clean and no help on the two items I told front desk on. The hotel was spacious and has one of the best fitness/spa I’ve ever used. Full weight room full cardio rooms full steam and sauna rooms

The restaurant and bar were closed but not mentioned on the website. The room refrigerator freezer was needing defrosted badly. The shower curtain had quite a bit of mold on it. Not updated, few outlets and no USB ports. The front desk man was very hospitable.

The property was excellent. Only issues I seen was the vines poolside were close to over running the windows and we had drippy faucets for the tub and sink. Meant to say something before we left but forgot.

This property is so promising online, but was a disappointment in reality. Arriving at the property, we were so impressed with the grounds and the building, to include the entrance to the Inn. The receptionist, Keith (or Kevin) was very gracious and pleasant. He gave us some of the history of the Inn and offered to show us around the building. It is a very historic property! We got to our room and reality kicked in. The room was average, at best. Furnishings were dated and worn. There was rubbish in the bathroom trash can. The handle of the night stand was broken off and we were unable to completely close the blinds due to their condition. Bathroom walls and sink had dirt and debris on them and the overhead tiles showed significant water stains. Unfortunately for us, there are few services available on a Monday. We had to venture into town to find dinner and there was no breakfast available on Tuesday morning, either. Even the golf course pro shop and pool had no refreshments available.

An unexpected find at a golf course country club
We liked this place at a country club a lot, lots of character. Front desk staff was very friendly. I think they are short staffed, trash was full in the room when we got there. The view of the golf course from patio dining was fabulous, food was pretty good too. We thought it was an unexpected find on hotels.com, but using this app is new to us, so maybe not?

Needs a room updating
Very good sized room and comfortable beds but the room has not changed in twenty years. They still use room keys , but they only give you one. Staff very pleasant but they don’t seem to very much about this historical building and community. Also odd that for the three days we stayed there there was NO maid service. It was like we didn’t exist. The resort is beautiful and the pool and golf course excellent but the rooms need a refresh. Parking is free but there’s a $ 6.00 day gate fee , I guess to offset the cost of securing the entire resort and homeowners association.

Place needs some TLC
The personnel are very friendly and helpful, but the problems known to management (dripping faucet, a tub drain that fails to hold water in tub, one-way bulbs in three-way sockets that make the lamps appear not to function when the wall switch is used, inadequate light generally and difficulty finding a socket to plug in a CPAP machine near a bed, not to mention that the TV was not plugged in when we arrived, but that seeing the outlet to solve that particular problem was difficult without a flashlight) do not seem to be a high priority. The setting is idyllic, but the place needs some TLC for the rooms it makes available to hotel guests.

Though the Inn has charm and set on lovely grounds, it is old . It is dark, small lobby, elevator needed service, water pressure in bathroom sink was low, and you have to request everything you need, as I had no housekeeper enter my room for all four days we were there. I emptied my own trash,left it outside the door, and no one even replaced the trash bag. I’m not a demanding guest, so I managed with the soap and towels I had. I just expected more from an Inn at a country club with a Spa, pool, and nice restaurants. The friendliness of front desk staff was just average, sometimes I had to acknowledge them first to get attention. That is a turnoff. Not sure I’d choose to stay on our next visit to Ohio to visit family.

All if the staff I came in contact with were very nice. My room was very comfortable with a very small coffee pot and small refrigerator. I believe you could get a microwave for the room if you requested one. The only problem I encountered was the confusing lobby entrance. It is located to the right of the awning over the driveway with the valet sign. They might want to consider a big sign pointing in the correct direction. It was raining when I checked in.

What a Gem!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about this Inn. The grounds are breathtaking. We took wonderful walks along the golf course. It was so quiet, lush and beautiful. The room is enormous. The entire place is quant and delightful. Enjoyed it much more than just another hotel stay.

I stayed for 1 night only. The location is great. The property is ancient. No key- less entry or Wi fi. The rooms are clean but lack basic things like drinking water. The towels and linens were okay but not hotel standard. Thankfully it was clean, safe and family friendly .

We have actual mechanical Locks with real Keys something you don't see anymore. The locks and the lighting adds to the ambiance of staying at the Inn. I like the fact that there were alot of shopping and restaurants conviently located close to the hotel. We didnt like the fact that this hotel kept running out of towels and washcloths because lack of housekeeping.....overall stay wasnt thart bad, but we did see like hair and a little uncleanliness in the room,but we thoroughly cleaned it ourselves.

This property needs updated and repaired. The first room they put us in, the toilet didn’t work. They moved us to another room, and told us it was the last available room, the air conditioning didn’t work in the second room. When we let the staff know the air wasn’t working, no apology or offer to compensate us in any way. The front desk staff was explaining to each guest that checked in that the locks on the room doors were difficult to work, and how to get into the rooms. I heard multiple people asking for assistance to get into their rooms. The Bertram needs to invest some money in updating the basics of the facility. There was a charge for parking, and the parking lot was clearly older, faded parking lines, dimly lit, no assigned parking. The check in staff were friendly and helpful at arrival.

Beautiful Hotel
The Bertrand Inn is a beautiful hotel on an even more beautiful property. Our rooms were clean and we had a great view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well. There are many amazing amenities that come with staying at this hotel including the large pool, hot tub, tennis, etc. Our only two minor complaints were that the beds were just a little too soft for our liking and that there was a pretty loud party with raucous music playing out by the pool until almost 11:00 pm. Other than that we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back in the future!
