Incredible Vacation

Posted Dec 12, 2017
Pros: The staff was just amazing, the accomidations were top notch.
Cons: The food in the Mediterranean was not as good as the others but the service was still top notch.
Location: The Ruins were fun to see, the snorkling with the sea turtles was great, good deap sea fishing, and the Dolphin experience at the resort was awesome.
Wow what an experience. The staff was top notch from the moment of pick up to the return to the airport. The beach was just amazing, clean and beautiful. This was the vacation of a lifetime!!!

Big Resort

Posted Dec 10, 2017
Pros: Landscape is beatiful
Cons: High grade the rooms
Location: Very big resort and they furnish vehicles to move between places.
Resort is well maintain beautiful landscape but little old furniture and AC in the room. Mini Bar means 2 domestic beer, water bottle and few soda. Buffet is good but the Menu a la cart restaurant very poor. On the beach no bar or server and on the pool you stay on line to order some drink..Swimming pool water looks clean and they have daily entertainment.Sand on the beach acceptable but the big problem lot of rocks inside the water. Very difficult to go in. I use private transportation for airport with SuperShutlle and it takes more then 1Hours between.I suggest not to use this company because you risk to pay double the price like I do it. The driver coming and if you are not there leave immediately.I was forced to hire a taxi and is expansive cause distance. If you find really good deals on price may worth it to come here if not is better look some around Cancun.

Beautiful hotel but that's where it all ends!

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Pros: Beautiful scenery but awful service, awful food and poor hygiene.
Cons: Change of ownership; management and quality standards need to be raised.
The hotel itself is beautiful with beautiful scenery but that's where it all ends. The air-conditioning in the room was broken when we arrived and we couldn't get any sleep all night (they fixed it the next day). The tub was all clogged and that was not fixed (it was very disappointing). The service was terrible (it was the worst experience in my life). Everyone was asking for their tip and everyone was extremely rude. If the drink was a bit more "complicated" to prepare (a mojito for example) they would refuse to make it. On top of that, my entire body was covered in a rash and it still hasn't gone away (it's been already 5 days). Being at this location, we were forbidden to visit most of the restaurants that were worth visiting. The ones we were allowed to visit were very poor quality and they always seemed to make you purchase a bottle service otherwise there were to tables available. The quality of the food was terrible. It was the poorest quality you can get. All food was like rubber. They often served food from the previous day which in some cases was stale (the croissants, the french fries, the pizzas, the salads). It was my first time in Mexico and I never want to go back because of my bad experience!

Great place for a tourist

Posted Nov 26, 2017
Pros: The staff, especially Rodolfo the shuttle man and Blanca in the restaurant, were awesome. The room was always neat and tidy. The food was actual good.
Cons: I would recommend having free wi-fi in the rooms if possible.
Location: The location is close enough to see the ruins in Tulum and the pyramid in Chichenitza.
If you're looking for a safe and comfortable place, this is the place to be. The room was great and in working condition. The staff were exceptionally helpful (Thanks Rodolfo and Blanca!). The food and drinks were excellent. Overall, my girlfriend and I had an amazing time. The only critique that I have is that we didn't expect to see that many tourist. If you're looking for a Mexican experience, this might not be your cup of tea. However, if you're looking for a great spot in the Riviera Maya, check out Bahia Principe.

It coukd have been better

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Beautiful grounds, outdated rooms, average buffet, excellent a la carte restaurants, and horrible beach. My biggest complaint is definitely the beach. It's has ugly wave breakers, it is roped off so you can't even swim, and the bottom is rocky. I have had the opportunity to swim on some of the most beautiful beaches on Mayan Riviera, including playa paraiso, tulum, and akumal bay. So, I do know what a food beach looks like. Also, the service at the buffet is a hit or miss, the food is always cold, and it takes for ever to replace empty trays. It's a shame because the resort is definitely well kept and good looking with on-site entertainment, but terrible beach is a deal breaker for me.

Dear Guest: On behalf of our team we thank you for taking the time to put together the details of your vacation experience at Grand Bahia Principe Tulum. We are more than happy to know that you enjoyed your holidays with us, the activities, the food, the grounds, and our facility. With reference to the comments about the beach area, we want to inform you that the beach in Mexico is public and the hotels cannot change the natural aspects as coral, reef, seaweed and rocks, located at the entrance of the beautiful Caribbean Sea and may sometimes molest people during their swimming session. In front of the Gran Bahía Príncipe Riviera Maya complex we have about 1.3km beach area where rocky areas and white sand areas alternate and give the opportunity to everybody to move freely to find the perfect spot to swim and enjoy. As you may know, the “geotubes” or wave breakers have been used for years in México since the heavy storms to protect the beach areas, avoid erosion of beach and dunes, and to create quite swimming areas for our guests. People use them as sun loungers, or playing objects, and although they may look as rocks these sand bags called geotubes are sediment-filled sleeves of geo-textile fabric used for the protection of our beautiful Mexican beaches. The comments and suggestions we receive from our guests are very important to maintain the quality of the service at the resort. They will be definitely reviewed with different departments to introduce corrective actions and improvements. If you choose us again as your holiday destination it will be pleasure to serve you again in the best possible way. ; -) Sending you our best regards, Elizabeth Villaseñor Grand Bahia Principe Tulum

Not what you see in the pic

Posted Nov 6, 2017
Second time staying in Tulum we really liked Akumal so decided to extend our vacations is not what we expected at all... all inclusive is not true you get only 1 restaurant if you stay more than 3 days the only option is the buffet the food is ok don’t expect to have any alcohol in your drink and if you want any good alcohol be ready to pay (example $5 shot of crown) , the safe in the room you have to pay to use it I never been to a hotel where you have to pay to use it, the bed was super uncomfortable the first room the bed was hard and squeak they moved us to a different room where the bed was soft but sank us in the middle. This place is huge to move from one area to the next you will have to take a trolley, but is very confusing on which ones go where even speaking the language the people weren’t that helpful which made it difficult. They send me an email that I was going to be contacted but never heard from them
