Wonderful Resort!

If you're looking for a huge secluded area with beautiful beaches, pool, excellent food and overall gorgeous atmosphere, this is the place to stay. It was our 2nd time at the resort, we stayed at a different part, the Grand Colonial and it was amazing. If you're looking for a relaxing, fun and safe vacation, you should check this resort out. I would recommend the Royal Yucatán for a great adult experience.

Great place to vacation

Pros: Great pools, beach, spa,restaurants, friendly staff.
Cons: Softer beds
Location: Lots of attractions close by. Tulum ruins are close with a great beach.
We have been to the Palladium many times, it's always great. The resort is large, has a great beach, many pools, nice selection of restaurants and buffets to pick from. They have activities and entertainment going on all the time, but they also have quite areas if that is what you prefer. Food is good, with lots of choices. Staff is friendly and do everything they can to make your stay perfect. Pedro and Vanessa at the Colonial receptions are great and Martha at the buffet is the best. We will be back.

Fantastic Hotel!

There isn't anything bad I can say about this hotel! We have been coming here for the last 5years and it just gets better and better!

Pros: staff / food / general atmosphere / environment and wildlife
Cons: entertainment
Location: no need to venture off site if you don't want to - in the past have done swim with dophins and also the Segway tour is recommended
Prefer the White Sands as opposed to the Colonial - mainly due to location of rooms etc However this is our second visit and was still fantastic Staff / food is amazing As hotel is under renovation at present, this has resulted in certain areas / pool / restaurant / bars / reception lobby all being closed so did limit our accessibility to these. There were also 8-10 lorries driving through complex which lifted up dust and also caused noise when this was taking place around the pool area and also certain areas of the complex. Entertainment was minimal around the White Sands pool - as though they did not follow a timetable. Evening entertainment (personally) is not to the standard that we have had a other places ie. Turkey - a lot of the shows are staff ran / dancing as opposed to bringing in Entertainers of a higher calibre. Would we return again? this is questionable as it appears that the resort will be different next year which may mean that only certain people can only access certain areas / facilities? Still a great holiday x

Terrible Hotel

Cons: Everything already mentioned !
There was a group of 30 of us staying at this hotel, and none of us were happy. The rooms were dirty , Upon changing the dirty sheets they brought us some dirtier than the previous ones. Insects all over the bathrooms and rooms. We asked for fresh towels they promised a wait of 20 mins which never made it to the room. No out lets inside the room, had to unpluge the T.V or hair drier in the shower to use the outlets. The food at the restaurants were awful , specially El dorado and Brazilian steak house which brought totally raw meat on the sticks after such a long time and they were inviting us to use the salad bar instead. The front desk people were not helpful with reconfirming the airport shuttle since we were staying there less than a week and we were not a member of the Hotel with a blue wrist band . I would not recommend this hotel if you like to have a nice, smooth and a real relaxing vacation.

Very nice place have stayed on this hotel at least 5 different times never had any problems until this time. Lots of problems with the key to the room worked at times and stopped working and took a whole day to get it fixed the first time

Amazing All Inclusive located near the beach!

Pros: Staff, food, cleanliness, interior design, beach, pools, drinks!
Cons: I would adjust the doors on the bathrooms stalls to swing out, instead of swing in. Difficult to get into! (Coming from a lean, tall person)!
Location: We explored Xel Ha which was a quick 30 min shuttle away! Amazing place!!! You can book at the resort for day trips! Very helpful!
Our stay was very comfortable and the location is great! There are multiple resorts on the Grand Palladium grounds that we could access, including access to all the pools, bars, and restaurants! The buffets were amazing and the restaurant offerings were vast! Every single staff we came into contact with were extremely helpful and friendly! There are lit walkways throughout the entire resort, and there are always shuttles in case you don't want to walk(or had a wee too many margaritas!) Our room was always clean, and when our beer fridge broke one day, the staff fixed it immediately! The AC temperature was adjustable which we appreciated! We also enjoyed the late night food that we could order from the Sports Bar...very helpful when the restaurants and buffets close for the night! There is a full store there where they sell everything from sunscreen to over the counter medication to clothing, and of course- souvenirs.. There are plenty of choices of activities to partake in on a daily basis (I suggest the archery and shooting!), and parties/ DJ's on the beach at night. Our favourite thing about this resort was the beach... amazing!!! The public swimming area is pristine- white sand and crystal blue warm water to swim in. Oh! The hammocks on the beach are awesome too, and there are plenty of shaded areas to lie under- just walk slightly away from the main crowds and you'll find a spot!

staff works hard to keep hotel very clean

Pros: the hard working staff without them the hotel would not be 4 stars
Cons: alcohol, the drinks were weak
Location: very long ride from the airport at least one hour
would not use orbitz again, we had some issues with the airline seats (could not upgrade and orbitz never explained this) and had issues for 2 1/2 days with the return shuttle. Hotel food, grounds and staff were great and I would return.

Wonderful Resort, Excellent Vacation

Pros: The kids loved the slides, enjoyed the wildlife, and delighted in the pools. Ana with reservations was incredible, and extremely professional.
Cons: Nada
Location: The only excursion we did was via Living Dreams to Tulum, a cenote, and an authentic lunch after shopping in Tulum. Incredible tour co.
You would be hard-pressed to find anybody in our group of 13 w/less than glowing remarks to share about the GP. The staff, grounds, food, beverages (name brands for those who have discerning tastes), beach, facilities, and everything in between exceeded our expectations. Unclear how anybody could find this resort to be anything less than amazing, but there will always be a few impossible to please visitors regardless of the destination. We visited the GP in Jamaica and Punta Cana, and this was easily our favorite. The beach, pools, and grounds were exceptional, as was the service in nearly every instance. The specialty restaurants provided lovely service, and they were always able to accommodate seating for our group of 13. Tip: if you go before 7pm, you’ll have a much greater chance of avoiding a long line at the specialty dining options. In short: we will be back!
