Great stayPosted Jun 5, 2015 on Hotels
The AC unit didnt keep the room cool enough for us at night. Otherwise the hotel was great as was the staff. The only real issue we had was somebody that parked in a handicapped spot without a handicap hang tag or plate. The hotel definitely needs more parking spaces (and more spaces marked for handicap access). We would definitely stay again.

Not the type of room I prepaid.Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Location and Front Office Personnel
Cons: New General Manager
Prepaid for a one-bed suite handicapped and got placed into a regular standard. room with one queen bed no handicapped. Management did not refund or change rates. Gen. manager when asked for one hour check out extension refused (only 60 minutes) This was on Sunday when the hotel was 85% empty. Don.t know where to get my refund difference which I prepaid in good faith. I'll never again use Candlewood Suites... Very disappointing experience particularly when you are handicapped. I hope Expedias.Com does do something about it including a price room credit...

Decent- Relatively New but Needs UpdatingPosted Jul 22, 2014 on Hotels
First of all, when a Candlewood Suites hotel is available in a certain city, this is my preferred hotel based on past experience. I prefer suites. This hotel chain offers both a suite at an economical price. Quiet hotel which is not on a busy street in proximity to many restaurants and shopping. The hotel does need some updating. Would have given a 5 but multiple carpet stains throughout noted. This was the only issue. Great staff. If you are looking for a good hotel which features a suite at a reasonable price, when you are in the Birmingham area, this is a great option.
