Pros: Homemade breakfast. Hotel grounds and view.
Cons: Should have some egg options included in free breakfast.
Location: Dora coffee tour was very good and informative. La Paz Waterfalls park was very nice too.
The Hotel has a beautiful, well maintained property with magnificent views! The trails and waterfalls are beautiful. Breakfast is fresh and homemade which we loved! Staff was very friendly.

Beautiful property

Posted Nov 25, 2017
The property is lush, extremely well designed and gorgeous. Most of the staff was very professional and service – oriented. The drawback is the price of food. As an example, they charge $1 PER extra tortilla. Beers are $7 (plus 23% tax/tip). Continental breakfast was decent.

Rain forest idyll

Posted Nov 15, 2017
Wonderful eclectic hotel nestling in a mini rain forest. Very helpful staff and an incredible atmosphere. Great infinity pool where you can watch the sunset . Tropical plants and wildlife. Small personal hotel for those who appreciate travelling away from the chain hotels. Love it.

Eclectic Bahaus hotel

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Sitting above San Jose with panoramic views over the city, the hotel is a throwback Bahaus design of cottages inter mingled between lush tropical forest. Rooms are spacious, minibar offering were meagre considering our cottage was a golf cart ride from the main reception/ restaurant. No TV in the room- I understand the concept but when it’s pouring with rain one can only spend so much time watching the view. Spa was great and treatments were very good. Disconnect seemed to be in the reception restaurant building- our arrival was disjointed and often we would walk in and sit and wait 10 minutes before being recognised. The jungle walks are an interesting and fun hour spent but other than that I’m not sure what else one would do.

Great Food and Views

Posted Nov 7, 2017
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Recommending things to do in the area. Could not beat the view. Furniture in the room was a little uncomfortable but you shouldn't be spending much time sitting. Hiking on the property to the falls was great.you don't have to leave the property.

Perfect Oasis

Posted Nov 6, 2017
Pros: The hotel grounds are amazing, lots of walking but well worth it. The waterfalls on the property is worth the hike.
Cons: It would be nice to have access to the day tours where guest can book from the hotel instead of having to locate the booking agency information.
Location: You are close to the airport and close to the town of Alajuela, we took a uber to get around was not expensive.
I stayed at Xandari Resort for my birthday celebration recently and my husband and i had an amazing time. The pictures are exactly as it is on the website. It was a very romantic trip, the villas are secluded and the hotel grounds are amazing, lots of walking but well worth it. The waterfalls on the property is worth the hike, the orchard and garden are definitely site to see. The food was good, breakfast was more than expected for continental. Great place to unwind and relax, if you're thinking of doing day trips please book in advance because the hotel doesn't have anything other than to arrange transport to the different locations which will be a bit pricy. Its mire fun to go on with a tour guide. We booked the Tabacon Thermal Resort hot springs and volcano tour and we were very pleased with it. If you're looking to do a day trip contact Anywhere.com, they have a lot of options. Other than that book with Xandari, will definitely be returning.

Exceptional Retreat

Posted Oct 26, 2017
Pros: Peace and quiet in extraordinary service and surroundings.
Cons: The WiFi in the rooms was almost non-existent.
Location: Easy access to local town markets. Tours easily arranged.
My wife and I spent 4 days at the Xandri Resort and Spa. The grounds were astounding with waterfalls, birds, floral gardens, coffee plantation, fruit trees pools. Loved the room and the views were exceptional.

Unique Experience

Posted Oct 11, 2017
This resort is very unique, amazing architecture, 5 waterfalls on site. Absolutely stunning view of alajuela in which every villa and the resteraunt over looks. Massage was great, rooms were great, no AC but rather a natural cooling rooms which was much nicer Imo.
