Tucked away, clean and efficient.

Posted Nov 22, 2015
Pros: Parking. Clean. Not busy.
Cons: Could use a theme park next door.
Location: Bar next door "Rafferty's" was good. Also see 24hr market bistro super market they have everything (2 minute walk).
Both hotel and parking lot are sort of tucked-away, on a commercial highway. Not a lot of foot traffic, and still within walking distance of a bar and 24 hr supermarket. Most importantly, the room was clean and everything worked. What else do you want.

Visiting old friends

Posted Nov 4, 2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable, with a very helpful staff. Gave excellent directions, and as noted, tried to get the television to work. Did a commendable job,
Location: Only an overnight stay. Didn't get to see the area and its attractions.
On our way to Maine, we stopped to visit friends we had not seen in years. Our stay at La Quinta was fine, with the exception that the television wouldn't work, and initially, there was excessive noise overhead(we were on the first floor). The staff tried to fix the TV, but with no success. We were moved to another room, and had no further problems.

Overall very nice stay

Pros: Staff - Cleanliness - Fitness room
Location: See above
Nice experience - close to airport as well as Albany/Troy. Very nice staff - Room was nice - Fitness room was nice and includes a multipurpose weight machine (A plus for me). Would definitely stay again - Lots a cool places to visit nearby from the State Capitol building (excellent tour) to Hot Dog Charlies (Excellent local Dogs with the sauce!).

The staff and management were extremely helpful when it came to juggling rooms so my daughter could have an adjacent room with her kids and us

Overnight ok

Posted Oct 16, 2015
Desk manager spoke The room numbers of women guests out loud twice. Really bad practice. I mentioned it to him and he kind of shrugged it off. Not good. Bad parking lot lighting especially for women at night and my key did not work. He did come right away for which I was grateful. Cheap, thin, inadequate bedding and no ability to regulate trmperature. Small investments here could have a bigpayoff

Nice hotel, great staff

Posted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: Close to where we needed to be, friendly staff, decent breakfast, nice pool and fully operational business center
Cons: Better advice on where to park - closest to our room
Location: N/A
Remembered us from before and were friendly and helpful when we asked for a first floor room as we had a lot of luggage that we needed to repack

Economic Stop Over

Posted Sep 30, 2015
Pros: The room.
Cons: Pillows and mattresses, breakfast
Location: Arrived late and left early.
The hotel appeared newly renovated. All facilities were very attractive, the room in particular. Pillows and mattresses apparently were net new and were average at best. Breakfast was not satisfactory. Not close to the airport and difficult to find.

Had tickets to a Saturday night concert at SPAC so we decided to stay here for one night. I booked thru Expedia, thought rate was a bit high but knew it was comparable seeing that this night was same that the Travers Stakes horse race was being held at nearby Saratoga. We arrived there at LQ by 2pm coming in from "blood in the streets in the town of New Haven", CT. When we arrived & went to check-in, we asked if our room was a King bed as I had reserved, but they said my ressie was for 2 double beds & that the hotel was SOLDOUT! Our room wasn't ready yet so we asked if we could have a card key so that we could access the pool & patio area to sit & wait - which they obliged. When our room was ready the day shift front desk gal passed by us in hallway on her way out & informed us that our room was now ready. We went to front desk, asked if any kings were available and the gal at front desk said yes and gave us an upgrade at no extra charge. Maybe the rates are the same ($169/nt), idk but glad we got a king bed along with a refrigerator (for my insulin) & couch w/ roomy sitting area. We went back down to thank the front desk attendant & to get directions to SPAC, but she said she wasn't familiar w/ the area & was new in town. Upon returning back to LQ, we looked at rates online and saw that at 11pm, the room rate was down to $109/nt on Expedia. We mentioned to front desk next morning, said we should've booked on LQ site. The free breakfast & attendant there were excellent!!!

Airplane noise and rock hard mattresses

Posted Aug 28, 2015 on Hotels
I've stayed in a number of La Quinta hotels throughout the US and this La Quinta was one of the more disappointing hotels at which I have stayed. Firstly the hotel is directly below the flight path for the nearby airport, so you hear planes roaring above the hotel every 15 to 20 minutes until around 1:30-2:00 AM. Secondly the windows and the walls are not sound proof so you hear everything from your fellow guests to the JetBlue flight mahjong its descent into Albany international airport. Thirdly, the bedding is horrific... The mattresses are as hard as a rock (equivalent to sleeping on the floor) and the pillows are old and smell like sweat. I like the La Quinta brand, but this hotel really needs to improve its interiors and get some sound proof windows or something to dampen the noise from planes flying overhead.
