OK for a 1 night stay

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Close to the venue we were attending (SPAC)
Had a room with 2 double beds. Not enough electrical outlets available to plug in cellphone chargers. Dead bolt did not work/ did not even line up with groove in wall to work! Carpeting in halls was very uneven. Strong smell of cigarette smoke in hallway. Sign says Hotel is under renovations so this could possibly be the reason for these issues. The room was very clean

Nice hotel away from the main thoroughfair

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Our check-in gas was great (Tammy) and the morning gal was very friendly. Our housekeeper was awesome- forgot her name. The hotel had signs that it was under renovation- but never any work being done- pieces of hall carpet missing- tarp on roof- no ice machine....my husband had to tweak our AC to have it work properly. Our checkout was easy and the gal was also very nice.

Horrible ! Don't stay there!

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: There are lots of nice restaurants and shopping in the area.
This place couldn't be any worse. It doesn't look so bad from the outside but as soon as you walk through the door you can tell it is really run down. If you are unfortunate enough to be on the second floor you have to carry your own bags up the stairs. I stayed on the first floor and from the minute I walked into the hallway all I could smell was bad body odor. The carpet was pulled up in spots and wrinkled, after seeing that I was very concerned about the cleanliness of the room. The carpet was very old as were the blankets and cover. The pillows were like basket balls, hard and round. I couldn't sleep because of the pillows. I had no desire to go near the free breakfast. The staff was okay.

Reasonably priced and close to Saratoga.

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Pros: The price
Cons: New carpet in the hallways.
Location: Very quiet and easy access to major roads.
This Red Roof Inn is reasonably priced and not too far from Saratoga Racetrack. The infrastructure is a little worn out, particularly the hallway carpet, but the room was clean and well kept. Parking was ample and at no extra charge. The hotel is near US-87 and Cracker Barrel restaurant is very close.

Pros: Staff.
Cons: It is fine for what it is.
Bare bones hotel. Clean, fine staff, no luxuries. Price somewhat inflated because of Saratoga Races.

Should have closed during renovations

Posted Aug 3, 2015
I have been staying at Red Roofs since 1996. I paid the most I have ever paid for a RR and the hotel was terrible. I get that they are renovating, but the hallway carpets were torn and not tacked down to the floor, the wallpaper was peeling, and the rooms were extremely dated. If they choose to stay open during renovations, the cost should be reflective of the condition of the hotel. If you want to stay here, ask if the renovations are complete before booking.
