A big disappointment for many reasons. Cold pool. Broken toilet seat making it dangerous, dirty room and rude staff. Charged 20$ extra to have our visiting family swim. Food wasn't great. Not worth the price.

Cold with concerns
When i checked into my room it was extremely cold. I understand its cold in the midwest, but i also dont feel that i have to remain under the covers waiting for the room to heat up. Also there was an issue at check in the front desk attendant didnt ask for a card for incidentals. The next morning when i went to check out they asked me for my card with minumal explanation. This front desk attendent just said the card number put in was a fake number. Without fully understanding, i set my card in front of me on the desk to pull up the app when the front desk attendant grabbed my card and scanned in the machine directly in front of me when i asked her what she was doing that I was showing her that I had already paid she said she would cancel the transaction and it wasnt really needed aince there were no charges to my room. Mind you the fact of her picking up my card to swipe it on a machine in front me didnt seem concerning for her.

The most disgusting hotel bathroom I've seen. The toilet was literally splattered. I took a pic, brought it down to the front desk, and asked if they could either send someone to clean it or give me cleaning supplies. The lady was super nice about it and did offer us a credit, but cleanliness was unacceptable. As for the rest of the room - bad was meh, they didn't have our booked room available in a pet room, despite me calling a month ago to ensure we had a pet room, and finishes were super worn (like peeling bathroom walls, cracked sink, etc.) The front lady lady was awesome, but the bathroom situation was gross enough that we cancelled our second night and re-booked elsewhere. Lots of smokers gathered around the doors.

My room was dirty refrigerator had someone’s food in it. Microwave dirty no body lotion in the container coffee maker in the room not working I brought my complains to the front desk and I didn’t hear apologies even once This hotel should not be rated excellent on line it confuses travelers 🙁🙁

I did not care for the stool was not flushed when first entering the room. The shower curtain was torn, and the shower features were falling off. The bed was not bad to sleep in ...the breakfasts weren't all that great...had the same thing twice.

Holiday Inn Express - desk area could use a nice dusting, room was clean. Pool area was nice. Breakfast was OK. They did have waffles, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs – most likely, eggbeaters, sausage, patties, etc. Never saw a worker come out to tend to the food, there was pancake syrup packets on the floor, silverware on the floor, needed some TLC but they must be short staffed. Overall nice, I would stay here again.
