Booking with Expedia doesn't guarantee your room.

Posted Feb 21, 2017
We were told when we got there that our room was cancelled by the hotel manager to accommodate a larger booking from a sports team. When I asked how that could be because I already paid for the room the attendant lashed out at me and stated "first of all you paid Expedia, not us. We haven't charged Expedia so your room is not guaranteed." The room was filthy, hair in shower, no remote, etc. I doubt I'll use Expedia again and will definitely never stay at this hotel ever again.

Coffee fail

Posted Feb 3, 2017
Pros: price
Cons: paper towels in the kitchen. Fix map directions,
Location: My iPhone map tried sending me to the other side of the highway to get to the hotel.
There is no point in serving coffee of you can't have real milk or half and half to put into it. Sweetened artificial creamer is gross. Not my thing.

high crime rate according to the local police.

Posted Feb 1, 2017
My truck was broken into. And we found out it's a high crime area from the local police. And the bed was terrible.

Nice room, middle of Rio Rancho

Posted Dec 27, 2016
The hotel is in the middle of Rio Rancho which is convenient if you are planning on staying just in that area. Room was nice and so was the staff. There were a few things here and there that I'm sure would bug some people. There was a small hole in the blanket on the bed and I saw a booger on the wall but nothing HORRIBLE!

December 2016

Posted Dec 17, 2016
I stayed Sun Dec 11th and everything was wonderful but checked back in in Wed Dec 14th and was less than desirable. I had to clean the hair out of the bathtub from previous person in room. And also had to clean the foundation out of bathroom sink. I complained but staff didn't even offer to move me to a new room. Then at around 11:30pm I had to call the front desk because the smoke detector kept beeping and waking me up. They had to stand on the bed so they could take the batteries out of the smoke detector and did not even remove their shoes. Gross! No compensation given. Very frustrated!

Horror story

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Rio Rancho, NM was nice.
I called ahead to tell them we were going to be about 11 pm getting in and they said no problem. We got there and they said no more rooms. After some searching, they found a room for us. They told me to pack my stuff for the next day because they were going to have to change our room for the next night. Went to my son's baseball tournament, returned and they once again said no rooms. They magically found one for us, it was occupied. Ooops. They found another one and I told them to check it this time first. The rooms were dirty, the front desk people were non existent. I will never stay at the Rio Rancho Extended Stay.

Went in to check in at 5:30. No rooms assigned to guests and many not cleaned yet. Had to return at 7:30 at which time, same situation. They tried to put me in a room that had just been painted and smelled of new paint! Took at least 30 minutes to finally get to a room and by then, my dinner was cold! They had insufficient staff for cleaning and checking people. The first time I arrived, there were 6-8 people milling around the lobby waiting for a room! The second time, I had to wait for 15-20 minutes for a desk person to even show up. Don't suggest this property unless you have a lot of patience or time to waste.

Convenient and Affordable

Posted Nov 9, 2016
Location: It is conveniently located for business in both Rio Rancho and the Albuquerque West Side.
The room was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The first day or so was a little uncomfortable as they were painting on the floor I was given and the odor was most unpleasant. It would have been nice to have been advised of that and offered a room away from the area being painted. The only real downside of the room itself was having to go back and ask for dishware and then tote it up to my room. Basic dishes at least should already be stocked in each guest room. It was that way on my previous visit (with former owners) and I was surprised to find it not so this time. The kitchen was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The windows in my room were in disrepair and one would not stay open at all and the other opened and closed only with great difficulty. Some of us do prefer fresh air to air conditioning. The hotel staff with whom I interacted were very personable and helpful. I did not take advantage of the "free breakfast" as it was really just a snack bar. Overall, I would stay again on my next visit to Rio Rancho.
