Southwestern atmosphere in Rio Rancho

Posted Jul 12, 2017
Pros: The rooms were well maintained, but there are no elevators (the rooms are only two stories), but some parts of the hotel feel old.
I liked the hotel--the rooms were old but clean and maintained, and the staff was super friendly--even the cleaning staff! The hotel is quite large, and has a central plaza of over an acre in size that has a pool and other recreational activities. The rooms line the outside of the plaza, which gives the plaza privacy. Overall it was a nice stay for us and our dog, and the plaza was a nice place to relax and go for a walk.

Nice if you're homeless

It was clean but way too old. Bedspreads had to be 40 years old. All vending machines empty.

Quiet, clean, affordable hotel in Rio Rancho, NM

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Pros: I like how the staff at the front desk is so friendly. When you walk around there is a sense of history and NM culture. The rooms are very clean.
Cons: I really have no complaints about anything.
Location: The location is great. You are close to many restaurants, grocery stores, shopping mall, drugstores, library, post office.
I have stayed at The Inn of Rio Rancho 3 times in the last 4 weeks. It is now the only place I will stay in Rio Rancho. It is quiet, has a lot of character and historical articles and artwork throughout, a nice pool, continental breakfast, and the rooms are very clean. My stay there has been nothing but pleasant, and if any problem ever arose, the staff took care of it immediately. It is a wonderful place to stay.

Not a good place to stay.

The rooms look nothing like the pictures, our room smelled like cigarettes, the beds were old, also there were cockroaches.

Ok hotel for last minute stay

Posted Jun 8, 2017
Front desk staff was very nice. Hotel however was not up to par. Room didn't look like it had been vacuumed and there was a dirty toothbrush left on the window seal in the restroom. Bedding looked dirty and towels were old and dingy. Locks on the doors didn't work properly and adjoining room door didn't close completely but stayed locked. Back side of the hotel was not very well lit and a bit sketchy. Had a 2 night reservation but cancelled 2nd night.

terrible hotel

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: EVERYTHING
Location: Scary, rundown area. Not tourist friendly. Nothing to do.
Let me tell you about this hotel...my daughter had a tournament in the area so we had left for the day but i was already sketched out by the place so I took all of our things. Thank goodness we did because when we got back, there was a whole family in there. I ran back down to the front desk and asked her what the deal was and all she had to say to me was, "oh..I thought you guys left already..." SERIOUSLY??? We paid for two nights through Expedia and then the hotel had me pay again when I got there...I don't know what the deal was but I had a terrible experience. Not a clean hotel. The surrounding was horrible. Very scary Unwelcoming The front desk was not helpful and very unprofessional Why is this hotel even an option on Expedia? you are sending your customers to a terrible location.

Old, kinda sketchy.

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: Cheap. Convenient.
Cons: Cleaner, higher quality company (that's really the worst part...)
Location: Albuquerque - where the air smells like warm rootbeer and anyone on the streets will gladly shave your back for a nickel. Also the Old Town.
Imagine a cheap apartment complex: a square building of rooms surrounding a quad, where vagrants from all over gather. They smoke, their dogs poop, kids play. I feel like people have been living there for months rather than a weekend getaway. Apparently the cops make regular visits and creepsters frequent the bar, although the bartender does a great job at kicking them out. Food at the restaurant is also pretty decent. The rooms were fine enough for a poor college student. There's WiFi, a low-quality (free) breakfast, and a pool that I was to sketched out to use. Apparently this place was one of the first things built in this town and you can tell. It was mostly clean, but also just kind of creeped me out. I stayed away from the hotel unless I was sleeping there anyways.

When this hotel was first build I bet it was quite extravagant and could be again. However, it is quite run down and needs a lot of updates and work. The hotel and grounds could be very beautiful. The staff was very pleasant.

Wouldn't stay again

Posted May 29, 2017
Hotel staff was very nice. The room was not, had a hole in the wall. There was another hole above an outlet that let the outlet be lulled from the wall. I had 2 queen beds, one was fine the other had springs digging into your back everywhere. We also barely had any hot water in the morning for 1 person to shower. Would not recommend.
