The owners were very welcoming and offered us a guard that their grandkids use, for one of the double beds so that our infant doesn't roll off. The room is very clean. The location is deal as it is close to a lot of attractions in Alexandria Bay. The beds were comfortable. We had some issues though.
1. The mini fridge was too cold as it froze perishables like fruits, baby yogurt, milk even though we had kept them in the non-freezer section of the mini fridge. We had to throw away some of these items as they got spoiled due to the frost.
2. The heater stays on continuously and made the room too dry. The only way to not stay too cold or too warm is to switch off the heat many times during the night. We didn't know about this at the time of booking. Nothing that can be done except for replacing the heater that switches off when the set room temperature is reached. We will keep this in mind the next time. We didn't get good sleep due to this reason.
3. The lights outside the rooms were bright and the curtains in the room were thin and so the room wasn't dark enough to sleep. Could have been prevented by having blackout curtains.
4. Wireless - free but slow/limited connectivity. Can't expect a lot here.
Overall this room is decent for a night's stay but would not recommend it for non-summer months.
The owners are very nice. And I don't want to leave a bad impression. But we feel there are some glitches that need to be fixed.
