The property and surrounding area are beautiful, the staff was wonderful and the food is excellent but the facilities are overdue for maintenance in the pool areas with missing tiles and lobby fountain areas that aren't maintained and concrete that needs resurfaced. What seems to have been a massive, spectacular investment 20 years ago, is showing its age.

Very nice resort. Location was great - short walk to beach and hiking and 2 restaurants on beach . Front desk were very friendly & helpful explaining room location etc. The indoor pool and spa were really nice. Only issue was the walls were pretty thin; I could hear doors closing & voices in hallway. Luckily it wasn’t busy & people weren’t making noise late. Overall I really liked the place and had a great stay.

I have been travelling many places around the world and stayed different 4 and 5 stars resorts but I never experienced check out time at 10am and check in at 4pm. Also you couldn't find a box of tissue and free coffees and tea for our 6 days 2 bedrooms apartment. Towels change twice a week and same with cleaning too. Not happy with all these and I definitely won't be back to this resort again. And also my apartment was out of electricity for a night.

It looked good, it was clean, and most service people were polite (except one guy at the reception). However, it is 2km from the closest town, and the only a (mediocre) breakfast was provided - coffee machine dispensed powdered milk. You could order very few things after breakfast (burgers and such), and if you did you have to eat them in a cold dining room (it was only heated for breakfast). There was only one mediocre restaurant nearby, so you had to use taxi to go to town for every lunch and dinner. The hotel would not let you fill your water bottle for the night from the water fountain, you had to buy a new plastic bottle and throw it away every time. There was no music or entertainment of any kind. In the dining room, one song played over and over again. The weather in winter is also bad - if it was not windy (sometimes gale strength) it was raining. In short, we could not wait to leave, and certainly would not go again.

The hotel itself is very nice and I liked the small kitchen in the room. I was also very impressed with the spa although disappointed to find out it closed at 7.00pm. I think given this is advertised as a luxury hotel there should have been a nice selection of toiletries in the bathroom.

Great Apartment
We stayed in the hotel for a week Dec/Jan. We loved the apartment, very comfortable. Location perfect: close to the beach and trails. We liked the spa, interior pool, and jacuzzi hydromassage although not all were working. Sauna and steam rooms didn't work either. Also I would suggest to have the pool and spa open later, not only until 7 pm.

This property is great for beach lovers. One of the best beaches in Lagos is a 3 minute walk. The apartments are modern, clean, and comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing and I highly recommend purchasing this option. You will need a rental car for everything else though. The resort is not far to Lagos by car, but not walkable to the rest of Lagos sites and attractions. The staff is also wonderful. I had issue with one staff member at the front desk on one occasion where he was short and seemingly sarcastic, but the rest of the staff I interacted with was simply amazing. I will be coming back to this wonderful place. It is close enough to everything, but far enough to enjoy peace and serenity.

Very good hotel for Vacation. Great location. Close to the beach. I highly recommend it. The only thing to complain about is they provide complimentary coffee for the room only on a first day.

At best average. Be aware of the spa towel policy that no one informs you about. Used our towel once then went for an exchange and rudely was told by the spa staff that you only get one towel per day. Then they said now you know for tomorrow like talking to a 2 year old. Never had this behaviour from SPA staff. Also had to walk back to the reception after we had checked in to our very far away room to get KEYS to the safe. Like of course we’re going to need the safe! It would have been nice to have been informed at check in. Nothing in this experience of staying at this place is exceptional, specially the staff that run things.

This resort was amazing! The location is beautiful and the pools are gorgeous. Its a short uber ride to Old Town Lagos. The room was spacious and well designed. If you are looking tor some R & R this place is fir you.

It’s a beautiful place but a bit over rated. They sort of nickel and dime you. A charge for ice a charge for water. Fresh towels once a week! Are you serious! So it is nice but I would not put it in the luxury category! The pools aren’t heated and the ocean is cold! So now you have a more full picture! The apartment is nice but the light is the bathroom are so dim you barely can see! I would not recommend it for the price. This property is worth half of what they are charging per night.

I agree with several others commenting that the check in process was a little onerous and that some of the other factors are less than ideal; such as the towel and safe key scenario, the lack of housekeeping if staying less than 4 days, and uncomfortable beds and furniture. So, yes, I would say it’s a bit much to call it a 4 star resort and spa. However, it was a very good value for our family. The grounds and amenities were nice, the 3 bedroom apartment that we rented was spacious and clean enough. The full kitchen, that was also stocked well, was nice and we did eat in 1 night, so we put it to use (the super market was about a 12-15 minute walk). The laundry option in the kitchen was also helpful with this as a second stop in our travels. The people we interacted with were friendly enough without being overbearing and all spoke English pretty darn well, which is impressive. That aspect was helpful for our family, because while we can speak conversational Spanish, we don’t speak Portuguese. The access to the beach was excellent and it’s not far to town, which was a great area to eat, and walk around. The good at the Bel Mar was just fine as well, and the dinner was priced pretty fairly. The bar drinks as well. We’d stay there again if back in the Algarve in the future based on it meeting the areas that are important to us while traveling.

Perfect in every way!!
There was absolutely nothing bad about this resort. The staff, Ricardo and Paula were polite, professional and very welcoming. Our room was gorgeous. With the most amazing view. It was a 2 bedroom suite for 2 couples and had 2 bathrooms. It was clean and comfortable. The location to the beach was wonderful and they had 4 pools I believe. I would definitely recommend this location and if I’m ever back in Lagos I would definitely stay here again. To get to other areas and the old town you would need a car or Uber. Too far to walk. We had a car and it was very convenient.

We liked this place although the staff and amenities were not as nice as some of the other hotels we stayed at. If we had stayed longer than 2 days and could have used our kitchen that would be great. Be aware of the 10:00am checkout time. If I had known how early we had to leave I would not have booked.

Although the staff are lovely and location is great, I would not recommend this property for the following reasons: -Overall condition is not great. The carpets, walls, showers etc., are scuffed up and appear to be in poor condition. -We were put on the ground floor next to the pool. We preferred a room on a higher level but they couldn’t accommodate us. To get to our room you had to take an elevator down to this dingy and frankly gross hallway. -The bed may have been the worst bed I have ever slept in. After complaining about it once, the staff put a duvet on top to make it comfier. This did not help as I could still feel the springs in my back. After complaining again and asking for a refund to stay at another hotel, they finally swapped the mattress to a better one. However, it still wasn’t great. -There were ants beside our bed. Staff cleaned this up right away which was appreciated. -The towel service is ridiculous, as you can only change pool towels once a day and they mark it down. I have never seen this at a hotel before. -They only provide a mixed shampoo/body gel. No conditioner or other bathroom essentials. -I got a spa service which was great but they don’t provide a bathrobe. Never have seen that before at a spa. -The food was horrible. We ate lunch there and by far the worst meal of the trip. -Pool is freezing and hot tub isn’t heated Overall, I would not recommend staying here when traveling to Lagos. You’re better off spending a bit more elsewhere.

Great location and property. The staff were super-helpful and nice. Our apartment was very clean. The hot tub in the spa area was not hot. Two of the spa amenities were broken and not working, (the hydrotherapy shower and another amenity that I am not sure what it was supposed to be for, maybe a salt room??). Overall, good value for the location and property. I would stay here again.

I am so happy with picking this property. It’s walking distance to the beach with a beach view right from the pool. It’s also about a one mile walk from old town Lagos which was so nice we visited about 3 times. If you don’t like walking the Uber was about 4 euros to old town. There’s a refrigerator and kitchen so you could also cook your own meals. Quiet property. I enjoyed it. A lot. Clean.

I had such high hopes for this property based on stated category and offered amenities. Shortly after arriving, it was easy to notice that this is not a 4 star property, rather a 3 star. Here is my list: 1. Rooms: terrible shower/bath, did not fully enclose so you were spraying the floors and huddled up against the shower head to stay warm since it's 3/4 open. There was this annoying metal door stopper on the ground by the toilets so we both kept stubbing our toes. Sounds dumb but we aren't the only ones to complain about this. The Nescafe coffee maker leaked coffee every time it poured a cup. They charge for coffee pods, you only get 2 pods as a courtesy regardless of your length of stay. There is not individual shampoos, conditioners, etc. Instead, there is a soap dispenser by the sink and another dispenser in the shower for what appeared to be an all in one. The beds were absolutely horrible, extremely hard!!! I slept better on the fake leather couch in the living room than the bed. After 2 nights, we scheduled a massage for the day we were checking out. 2. Hotel amenities: first, there is black mold present all around the indoor spa pools. There are also out of service spa amenities and broken furnishings. The pool closes before sunset and their drink/food offerings were lackluster. This is not a resort, it's a 3 star hotel. I cannot recommend this property and will not return.

Resort was reasonably priced and was a great location. Beach is just across the road. Few restaurants were about 10 min walk. Cheap Uber ride to downtown Lagos. Rooms are nice, clean and have a kitchenette with modern appliances. We had ground level, poolside which had a fairly private terrace. King size bed was a bonus!

The townhouse was very comfortable, clean and huge so I'm not sure why we were only allowed 2 kids and had to pay extra for the 3rd. The pool area of the main building is really nice (unheated) with lots of shade options. The food offered poolside was delicious. It's a few minute walk to a beach. It's too far to walk to town, but only about 5 min drive which was great. We went to town for coffee, bfst, dinner. Unit had laundry, powerful AC and everything you could need. It was rated 8.7 when we were there and that seemed very appropriate. The (check in) service was an 8 (checkout was higher), pool a 9, townhouse an 8 (view of street, coroporate furnishings, huge bedroom with barely any furniture, lots of burned out lights on patio, despite requests to replace), location 9. Very nice but not a luxury resort (nor was that expected).
