Quiet at night and close to the beach and shops

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Pros: Clean and modern and not too big
Cons: The shower head holder was broken and the shower itself was not very powerful
Location: Ideal for visiting Faro and Ria Formosa which is approachable by a lovely boat trip
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were good with plenty of variety to choose from.

Wunderbare Aussicht aufs Meer

Posted Nov 20, 2016

Mycket bra service

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: Service och frukosten. Fick bra hjälp av personalen vid problem.Fin spaverksamhet.
Cons: Jag hade begärt rum utan heltäckande matta p g a astma och allergi.
Olhao vanlig stad

One of the best

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Location: Many restaurants close by. The daily fish and fruit/vegetable market is interesting Boat trips to the interesting off shore islands are well worth it
This hotel is one of the few out of the dozens I have stayed in on both business and pleasure that I have stayed in the UK and Europe that comes close to living up to its Star rating. Reception was very efficient and helpful, the breakfast first class- very good choice, all fresh, good service, rooms of a very good size and well equipped with plenty of storage space, and the balcony is a good size, the pool deck well presented etc. etc. The hotel overlooks the marina though sea view rooms seem to cost more. I have just a couple of "gripes". Firstly in the 5 * hotel I would expect a kettle, iron and ironing board in the room. Secondly unfortunately there was no "atmosphere" in the bar/lounge area at night, perhaps due to a lack of appropriate seating in the lounge and the very small bar area being closed off from the reception/lounge area

Hotel lovely, and pool area fair beds too close.

Posted Oct 5, 2016
This was our second stay here this year, generally everything was good. It's such a shame the bar staff still don't understand what a white wine and soda is and how its served, every day I had say how it's done which got tiresome. The sunbeds are too close for comfort.

Sehr schönes Hotel

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Location: Es gibt keinen direkten Badestrand.
;) Familienhotel.

Useful base for exploring new part of the Algarve

Posted Sep 3, 2016 on Hotels
We stayed at the Royal Marina Hotel for a week at the end of August with our 6-year-old daughter. The weather was very hot and sunny all week so we spent most of our time in and around the pool. The outdoor pool was not particularly large and was overcrowded quite often in the afternoons. The indoor pool required the use of a swim cap at an extra charge. In spite of signs warning against it, the usual bun fight for sun loungers was the order of the day, with some other guests "reserving" their spots at 7.30am. We escaped from the pool on a couple of days to visit the islands surrounding Olhao and both trips were very enjoyable. We went on the ferry to Farol for the day and on an ecotour around Armona and Culatra for 3.5 hours. Both highly recommended. We did not eat in the hotel except for the inclusive breakfast and occasional sandwich by the pool, choosing to visit the small number of restaurants in Olhao instead. These were a pleasant surprise with excellent quality fish in even the most basic surroundings. All in all, an enjoyable trip to a slightly different part of the Algarve and far more interesting than a sterile, all-inclusive resort. The hotel was very comfortable, but we would not describe it as 5-star.
