Sixth stay in two years

And I can't recommend this hotel any higher,. From the moment one walks through the door to the sad moment of leaving I find it the best hotel I've stayed in. From New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, Toronto, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Bateaux, many in UK, Darmstadt, Luxembourg the list goes on.. Don't even bother to look for better you won't find it.

Not a 4 star hotel

The public areas were good, as was the breakfast but no coffee or tea in the room is disappointing for a 4☆ hotel. The bedroom was small and very tired. The bathroom was ok and at least the shower worked well. I went down to tge indoor pool at 6.30am for my daily swim to find the pool didn't open until 9am so whilst there was one, i was unable to use it whilst we were there. Our stay was ok.

Good location, close to all amenities.

When I arrived I felt the room was small, however I did only book for a single so can't really complain. It would have been a queeze if there were 2 in the room. Staff very helpful and friendly, great breakfast. Good bars and restaurants very close by. Would definitely recommend it.

Good out of season resort

Pros: Its location in Lagos close to the Marina and the town
Cons: The room comfort especially the bathroom - there was no extractor fan. it was hard to control water temperature in the shower which was in the bath
Location: Plenty to do in and around Lagos - fishing trips and boat trips, beach and town to explore
We have stayed at the Tivoli for many years and have always enjoyed our time there but it is in need of some TLC which we understand will be happening in the winter period this year. The rooms aren't the most comfortable for spending time in and we were disappointed to have a room on the north facing side which meant that we had no sun. Otherwise all was OK - a good breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Ideal for golf or visiting the west coast of the Algarve

GREAT HOTEL

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Massive outdoor car park and with barrier control now.
Cons: Swap streaky bacon to back bacon at breakfast. Change the Liptons tea bags to Typhoo, Tetley or Yorkshire for a fuller flavour.
Location: The hotel is located in a very quiet back street just off the beautiful marina. Walking distance to the shops and beaches. Lagos is a beautiful place.
This is a good hotel and very welcoming staff and very helpful. The rooms are great and the Leisure Facility great with a very clean pool and sauna and gym. The rooms are very clean and bedding made daily.

Good Hotel, helpful staff close to local amenities

Lovely atmosphere, spotlessly clean room, excellent buffet breakfast - fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and cooked breakfast. Buffet style evening meal or separate al la carte Restaurant. Polite and helpful staff. Hotel in quiet location but very close to bus station, train station, Marina and a short stroll from town centre.

Character and Charm.

I appreciate that the hotel is looking tired, which I am sure that the planned refurbishment programme (Understood to be at the year end for approx 4 months), will address. The hotel does have its own ambiance, it isn't a modern high rise cube, but does offer an insight into the Portuguese style. Generally service levels are very good, but the bar staff do seem to need an occasional prod from time to time. Looking forward to seeing the changes.

could be better

Pros: good breakfast and well equipped clean room
Cons: make porridge properly, cook prunes, control the temperature in public areas (the aircon one lounge was too cold in February), some staff were snooty,
a modern maze of a place, in a good location and with good facilities, but management seems poor as things that should be right are not.
