Great sun beds and room beds

Posted Aug 24, 2016
Everything excellent BUT Systems at reception very slow - checking in/ new room key/queried took ages Shuttle bus organisation needs sorting One night it took 90 mins due to full coaches/ no proper queue/ I don't expect to have to get to the bus stop 30-45 mins ahead of everyone else to ensure I get a seat on the bus'!!!!

very chilled out hotel perfect for family breaks

Posted Jul 31, 2016
Pros: people, pool areas, quietness of rooms and space of rooms. child friendly
Cons: encourage the couples without children to use the Adult pool area. discourage the residence guests from using the tivoli
Location: free shuttle bus to marina, hire a car and get lost for the day or drive to seville only 3 hours away
i booked this hotel only 12 hours hour before hand due to last minute change in plans. I had stayed at the Hilton Vilamoura only 3 weeks before hand and i really did make the right choice not going back there. its glorious hotel. lovely beds all around the pool areas. and unlike Hilton there are always beds though I do think they should stop people putting towels on the bed.... at 8:30 in the morning most of beds have towels on them... so i had to get up very early to secure a space ;) the staff our wonderful. The gym is also very good. We stayed in a junior suite which meant free use of the coffee machines and also private dining looking out over the golf course. Rui and his team looked after us and our 4 year old . Anna the manager for Customer experience was also a gem and everyone make our holiday a true success. we will be back either late in the year or next summer. It was a magical week.

Wonderful hotel!

Posted Jul 25, 2016
Not a bad word to say. All round excellent stay! Plenty of sunbeds, excellent food, friendly staff. Suitable for families and couples. Slight snag is the distance from the shops but I knew that when I booked. Shuttle bus works well though.

Fantastic modern hotel

Posted Jul 17, 2016
Fantastic modern hotel located a few miles from the marina, although a courtesy bus is provided. Staff are excellent and very attintive. Food is good, albeit drinks around the pool are very expensive at 3.50 for a coke and 4,00 for a bottle of water.

Many pros, some cons!

Posted Jul 17, 2016
We have just got back from our stay at this hotel and it was overall a great experience! The pros Gorgeous hotel and surroundings Lovely helpful staff Mainly English guests The pool area is great and there is good service for drinks, snacks etc, also an adult pool we didn't use too much but it was lovely Free internet in your room if you join a free loyalty club (no catches) Occasional evening entertainment but we didn't make the most of this I disagree that you need a car, taxis to the marina takes 5-10 mins! It was our anniversary and they gave us champagne and desserts in the room it was so nice! Breakfast is quite good if you like a full English Cons The room cleaning was hit and miss, some days a very half hearted job, no clean flannels, lack of new toiletries etc Lots of ants in the room on the floor all of the time, Unsure if this was just our room, but no mosquitos which was great The taxi waiting time was approx 20-30 mins a night in the lobby, HOWEVER strongly recommend using Uber, we only realised we could do this after over an hour wait to get back from the marina one night (the queue is always really long) the local taxi drivers despise uber because it is taking their business but I can see why when it's half the price and much nicer cars/service! (€12 to marina in normal taxi, €6 in uber, €40 to airport, €24 in uber) But overall I would definitely go back again and recommend to friends!

Lovely hotel

Firstly, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would gladly recommend the hotel. Cons: * room cleaning often done too late. As late at 3pm and duvet cover change done late night. I believe the cleaning staff are under-staffed. * the discovery programme offer was misleading, as two concierge staff gave different information. * they tried to stick me with a room bill from the other guest. However this was resolved. Pros The room facilities is great and a good bed. Breakfast tasty Loved the pool and service from pool staff Great hotel, lovely facilities and great service from the staffs.

Good hotel ruined by poor service.

Posted Jul 10, 2016
Pros: The roomes are nice and spacious.
Cons: An awful lot.
Location: It's a mile or so from the beach and main marina centre. Unless you play golf there is literally nothing alse around the hotel.
Having stayed in Vilamoura numerous times we knew this Hotel was a bit out the way for the beach and marina but we decided to give it a go anyway. The hotel itself is fine, the rooms spacious, comfortable and clean, the Sunbeds are comfy. What sadly lets it down is the staff, not that they are rude or anything, just their inability to fulfil anything. An example being ordering a taxi, what happens you book a taxi in plenty of time but the hotel only uses one taxi firm, so if you want a taxi say at 7.30pm you'll be in a queue and one night we waited over an hour as the same lady taxi driver did round trips back and to the town. My tip is get a number of a local taxi firm and book with them, not only will it be more reliable it will also by 3-4€ cheaper (the hotel ones charge 12€ and the local ones between 8-9€). There is a shuttle bus service, it's free and the first evening one is 7.30pm, you'll need to queue a good 30mins in advance to be in with a chance of getting on it as it's full of families with kids stopping in the nearby apartments. Also as the hotel is not near anything, no local shop, bar etc. it has a tendancy to charge high prices eg. A paper cup of coffee or tea at the pool €4.50, plastic glass of coke €4.50, Thai Salad €14 etc. Wouldn't stop here again, back to The Lake Resort it's an all round better experience and you'll be better off after a week.

First rate 5 star hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and it never fails to live up to its reputation. A place you can relax and forget above the stress of every day life.
