Good option for a cheap family vacation

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Parking is free and it's relatively close to the beach. The buffet is good and cheap. It's nothing special but a good economical option for a family.

Close to the beach but a long way from the airport

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: Very helpful reception staff
Cons: The bathroom needs to 'spruced' up
Location: Very easy to catch tram to centre of Alicante and some restaurants nearby
Previously we have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which is a short drive to the airport but this has now closed and we didn't realise that this Holiday Inn was the other side of Alicante. The hotel is pleasant enough but the bathroom could do we some attention. Very quiet room and lovely comfortable beds. Good breakfast for 10 euros.

Hotel is quite and good for Relaxing and WiFi is Good coverage. stuff is Helpful. there was no electric kettle in Room also there is no refrigerator in the Room. This hotel does not even have a kettle or tea/coffee facilities...the room is okay the bed matresses are not good and worn out.. This is supposed to to be a Holiday inn not a lower grade hotel...i don't think I'll recommend this to anyone. Staff is polite.

Great hotel - Could be better

Posted Oct 23, 2016 on Hotels
2nd visit to this hotel, chose as great value for money. I don’t know how much longer the staff can cover for the awful state of the décor inside this hotel. The carpets tiles are all faded, stained and patchy. The room décor needs a complete refit – the wardrobe doors did not work, there were no net curtains at anybody’s windows (the rail was there!) The wheels on the bed make sitting up in bed impossible as there is no headboard, so you just push away from the wall and end up with a big gap. The room was fantastically clean and the towels and bed linen were good quality. There was only one power point and this was under the desk, which was very difficult to access – impossible probably for someone with a disability. No fridge ( but there had been at some point!) Whilst here there was no hot water for one morning (this happened last time we stayed!!) The breakfast was very good with lots of choice, including hot food. The pool area is fantastic and was cleaned every morning. The bar area has a great ambience to it and the drinks prices were very reasonable. Lovely quiet area with a couple of good supermarkets within walking distance, bus stops outside to Alicante and a short walk to the beach. I do like this hotel, but it does need desperate attention and upgrade on the inside.

This is at best a 2 star hotel very handy for an overnight stay. Hotel is very old and has no amenities - no fridge in room, no breakfast etc. The rate does not reflect that the hotel has seem much better days,

Not a 4*

Posted Jul 15, 2016
The hotel is nice. Location is out of town unless you have a car, taxi would be expensive travelling to airport and other tourist attractions. Close to the beach but the hotel is not a 4* it's a 2.5/3. staff are friendly.

Playa San Juan

Everything was fine, reception particularly helpful, nice clean pool. I'm only giving 3 stars though because the only wifi was in the communal areas and it wasn't very strong, plus there was no fridge in my room. C'mon guys, this is the 21st century; good wifi and fridges are necessities.
