Great position but tired!

No smiles or welcome on arrival, wrong room given (booked twin, given double) & dirty towels in bathroom. However give them their due, sorted quickly when we complained. Hotel tired, looks like it needs a good scrub but great position in centre of town to see the sights of Alice.

Got in very late and they were very helpful. The night clerk opened the gate so we could park inside, showed us to our room and made checking in very fast and easy.

My stay at Aurora hotel in Alice Springs

Pros: Central location. Excellent staff. Clean and tidy room.
Cons: Sometimes the hot water took a long time to come through when having a shower.
Location: Great location. Convenient to the business centre with Woolworths and Coles nearby. I had pre-arranged tours booked before staying at this hotel.
After 4 days camping, this hotel was heaven sent. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was a problem. They even minded my bags when the departing flight to Adelaide was delayed 8 hours. The facilities were excellent with comfortable bed and a good restaurant.

It's okay but dated.

Check in was easy but the building is a bit of a rabbit warren. The room was well laid out but it needs many things repaired - peeling paint, a sliding door that doesn't slide and dripping taps. The location is excellent, backing right onto Todd Mall, overlooking the park and the mall itself. For breakfast we wandered down to the mall then checked out some shops before returning to our room to check out. Upon returning to the room we found the housekeepers in the room cleaning up. We told them we hadn't checked out yet and they replied that they were told that we had. I can't understand how they didn't notice our bags next to their vacuum cleaner. We told the front desk about this and we were told it was probably because the house staff have trouble with her accent. When we arrived in the room we found a dirty towel hanging behind the bathroom door and there was no milk in the room for tea or coffee. I had to go down to reception after we had been out for the night because there was only the person on the desk on duty. The front desk is a available 24 hours a day but at night it is only to talk to them. This place has potential to be a great place but it is being run on a very tight budget by all appearances - budget first and customers a very distant second.

The courtyards and gardens provided a shady recluse. My deluxe room was very airy and cool even in he heat of the day.

Nice Hotel . great location and 24 hr reception

Pros: friendly
Cons: noise of people at night .
Location: walk larapinta trail. desert park. botanical gardens.
perfect stay for exploring Red Center . Transfers to all good tourist spots available . food shops close bye . walking and cycle tracks close. clean spa tub and pool.

Pretty and Comfortable.

Booked the room at the last moment. It was clean, comfortable and the service was very good. I arrived tired after an overland trip and the bed was very, very comfortable. It is close to downtown restaurants and shopping. Would recommend it to other travelers

Adequate hotel in good central location

Pros: Convenience and pleasant staff
Cons: Breakfasts could be better and standard rooms more comfortable e.g more blankets, heaters working, attention to details such as crockery etc.
Location: Location good, convenient for all amenities
Stayed in hotel at beginning and then end of a hiking tour. In first stay had a standard room which was cramped and cold especially at night (only one blanket provided which was not enough). When we returned a week later we upgraded to a more expensive but better room which was pleasant and comfortable. Nights were still cold but requested and received extra blankets. Food was only average. At breakfast ,little variety in bread, cereals and fruit. Juice was very watery. Only one domestic type toaster was provided which was inadequate at busy times. Evening meal was acceptable but not brilliant. Mug in room cracked and tea leaked from it. Reported it to Reception who promised to replace it but this was not done.
