Avril and Gary

We stayed in this Hospederia for 3 nights and found it to be very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was cleaned daily and a bottle of water left for us each day. We took our two small dogs with us and didn't have a problem with that. I particularly loved the very typically Spanish dining room downstairs where we had an adequate breakfast with fresh fruit, nuts, a selection of cereals and pastries. Followed by tostadas and coffee.
Manuel - the owner - was very pleasant and most knowledgeable about the best places to eat and the best beaches to visit. He also told us about the spaghetti westerns and Indiana Jones films that had been made there on location. I could also practice my Spanish on him!
The nearby pueblo of San Jose was very pretty, if a little touristy!
We visited Playazo beach which was beautiful, but if you don't like nudity don't go there. It's not an official nudist beach, but many people do strip off!
I would recommend the area of Nijar and the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata and would
Definitely stay at Hospederia Los Palmitos on any future visits to Almeria.
