Short ski trip
A short ski trip, stayed in twin room on ground floor. Compact but workable as a place to sleep. Great daytime staff. Night staff a bit suspect as one openly admitted to setting fire to a microwave in the early hours generating a very disturbed night for all guests. Oddly no apology or recompense was offered or given

Great hotel well positioned in the centre of Megeve close to the lifts and ski hire. Hotel a bit dated but very clean and the staff are super helpful.

Low cost service
We arrived in the morning and we were informed that the check-in was only available after 2PM. We asked to leave our bags in the hotel while we went to Ski and the only option available was to leave our bags in a public area (reception). When we returned the bags were in the same place and no service was provided to helps us to take the bags to the room. In a hotel where you pay almost +300 EUR per night the minimum we would expect is to have someone to carry our bags to the room.

Way way overpriced and in shabby condition. Over 500 euro a night is insane for a “suite” where you have no full length mirror, are required to stuff a towel behind the shower head to get the water to spray at you, and/or cannot get an attendant to process a ski ticket because they are too busy. Staff barely said hello to me in 4 nights. Moreover when I booked which extremely restrictive cancel policies, I was led to believe by Expedia that this was the only room available - not so once I was there. Regrettable reservation and no flexibility once you get locked in. Location is good though.

Nightmare holidays. Please make sure you don't book this hotel if you plan to get there by car. The hotel does have 41 rooms and only 9 squuezed in parking slots and getting one of those in a busy season is like winning the lottery. There's no free parking in Megeve and it costs 2 euro / hour from 7 to 20 if you're lucky to get one. At the time of writing this issue is mentioned on their website but not on Cheaptickets / Expedia which was where I booked my stay. The hotel manager didn't do anything to help or minimize the hassle.

nice chalet style hotel with exceptional staff - they make the BEST Cappacino I have ever had - and i drink a lot of them - charming town but mostly closed as we were there between seasons

Close to centre, friendly helpful staff and cosy
Staff were lovely. English and French spoken widely. Breakfast is not that great and there are many wonderful much better patisseries nearby.

Finding a base at Megeve during half term week
Through last minute bookings our Family : (consisting of three daughters and their young ones) got last minute half term deals at Megeve : and I went along as granny nanny . It was brilliant ! They had all booked accommodation all over the place ias this was all that was left , but the hotel,so central, served as a wonderful base . Le Vieux Moulin and it’s staff were exceptionally flexible and tolerant , from the end of ski day family rendezvous , me chilling out with small ones , evening meals booked by other members of the family , storing our luggage , and dealing with things left behind, and a shop “carrefour montagne”for those self catering two doors away! I’ve never booked anything on the web before apart from Air tickets , but this was exceptionally easy via Expedia . lovely hotel in exceptional situation . Thank you !

Great place to stay in Megeve
Vieux Moulins was a great choice. Al was excellent. I used to have a home in Megeve but was not familiar with this property. It is one block from the middle of the village walking area. Our room was completely modernized but the hotel is charming with many old passages. All of the staff were super helpful and pleasant. The hotel has its own parking lot. Megeve, as always, is still a beautiful village!

Lovely hotel and area but very expensive
The hotel was great value for money, we had a lovely room with balcony. The decor is a bit dated but it's kind of part of the charm. Staff were friendly unfortunately it rained on our visit so could not use the outdoor pool but looked nice. The town is a minute walk away, you could not be more central. The town is lovely but very pricey, pint of beer £10 Euro same price as a bottle of sparkling water with dinner. Drinking wine is a little cheaper. Bought a few olives and bits on the local market, also really pricey. Overall, lovely place but we wouldn't go again simply because "living expenses" are too high but the hotel was great.

Au Vieux Moulin Hotel, Megeve. Winter.
Nicely presented 3 star hotel. Very friendly & helpful staff. Nice location close to ski hire and lift station. Friendly warm atmosphere. Nice lobby area. Roomy breakfast area with nice continental breakfast. Good tea & coffee. There is an outside pool but obviously no use in the winter. If visiting Megeve I would highly recommend this hotel. It represents good value for money in line with the usual alpine prices. All in all very pleased with our stay.

Lovely warm hotel in centre of village, easy to get to ski lift, and evening shopping. Hotel staff helpful and friendly will be using this hotel on our next visit (have been going to Megeve for a long weekend for 12 years!)

We stayed with our son aged 8 for three nights. Really enjoyed the stay. Hotel is very well situated with a lovely pool that we spent a few hours every day. it was very good value and although traditional decor was very relaxed with very helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Au Vieux Moulin Hotel And Spa. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was excellent, shower was great. The area is very nice but don't follow your SatNav there unless you like narrow, windy and steep roads. Take the main road. It gets you there OK

Well-located, right in town and 1 minute from ski lifts. Staff were very pleasant and helpful before and during my stay, booking restaurants, storing luggage etc. Spoke excellent English but indulged me when I tried out my schoolboy French. Restaurant looked ok, but I didn't dine there. Breakfast was just ok but that may have been in part due to my having been in the Wide Awake Bar drinking ricard until 3am....

Short Stay February 2015
Hotel is in a very good location being only a couple of minutes walk into the centre of town and the nearest gondola (Chamois). Our room was large enough with plenty of storage, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff were really helpful and happy to speak English which was probably best give our level of French. The rooms were a bit expensive but I think that’s the case for Megeve in general.

Superior Room was small but clean and well decorated. Closet was very useful for unpacking. Bathroom was well sized. Really nice shower head. Fresh towels provided daily. Bed was two twins pushed together that kept sliding away from each other on the wooden floor at the slightest movement. However, mattress and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately, not many hot options except for poached/boiled egg. Breakfast buffet also consisted of juice, coffee, pastries, bread rolls, yogurt, and fruit. We loved the cozy atmosphere of the breakfast room area and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Sitting areas really nice for relaxing. Front desk was really helpful. Our flight was cancelled on Air France due to strike, and they helped us find another reservation. Hotel is centrally located in Megeve and just a few steps away from the center and gondola lifts. Also, it is next store to a grocery store. I also liked that the hotel is set back from the busy street making the place more quiet. Storage lockers for ski equipment very convenient.

Hôtel très agréable, établissement et personnel. En revanche très mal dormi les 2 nuits… Très chaud dans la chambre malgré des nuits fraîches. Obligé de dormir la fenêtre grande ouverte avec bruit d’un générateur quelconque non loin. Chambre également très mal insonorisée, réveillée très tôt les matins par des voisins (ou personnel) qui donnent littéralement l’impression d’être dans la chambre. Dommage… Ce n’est peut être pas une généralité mais chambre 53 à fuir.

Närhet till allt!
Bra hotell med närhet till allt! Byn är underbar med bra restauranger och shopping om plånboken tillåter. Bästa Alpbyn! Back restaurangerna är toppen oavsett var du hamnar i backarna och skidåkningen är ok för den som vill glassa runt och inte behöver dom extrema backarna för då har du närheten till Chamonix över dagen. Rummen var inte som på bilderna och vi fick inte rummet som var utlovat enligt bokningen och dom försökte rätta till det med ett annat rum men ändå inte som förväntat. Servicen var blandad men väldigt trevliga i receptionen.
