Apartment right by Aiguille du Midi Cable Car

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: It was cheap, clean and really well located.
Cons: The bed is a Japanese tatami mat and futon which is very hard. My wife found it really comfortable but I ended up sleeping on the large sofa.
Location: Aiguille du Midi Cable car, Brévent cable car, Montenvers Rack Railway. Basically you are in the heart of the Chamonix Valley with all that entails.
It is important to note that this is a self-catering apartment and not a Hotel. The owners of the apartment were very friendly and communicative and showed up to let us in on arrival. We were provided with bed linen and towels. The apartment was clean and has a kitchenette including a fridge and a cooker as well as cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery which we didn't use as we ate out at some of the many restaurants which are a short walk away. The shower room/toilet is small but modern, functional and clean and met our needs well. There is a lovely view of the Aiguilles Rouges including the Brévent cable car from the window. One morning we watched as tens of paragliders descended into the valley from on high. Stepping outside of the front door you are literally across the street from the Aiguille du Midi cable car station, and there are some great views of the Mont Blanc Massif. The apartment is on the edge of the centre of Chamonix, and there are loads of great restaurants within easy walking distance. The apartment is very close to the Chamonix Sud bus stop and the Chamonix-Aiguille du Midi SNCF station. The main Chamonix railway station and that Montenvers rack raiway are a little further away but only a ten to fifteen minute walk. If you get a Carte D'Hôte from the tourist office for two Euros you can use public transport for free within the Chamonix valley.

Gravity Fabulous n'est pas un hotel. C'est un studio qui est loué par la propriétaire. Le numéro de téléphone donné par hotel.com pour joindre la propriétaire, n'est pas attribué.

Nice little studio, good location, a bit noisy at night, but I am very satisfied!

Good value for money and in a convenient location for Chamonix and skiing. Self catering facilities good - would go again!
