location great then it all was 'downhill'.

Posted Jun 24, 2016
Pros: Not a lot. receptionist was good. Location in theory is good. Most facilities seemed closed - a wine/cheese bar looked interesting except closed
Cons: start looking after customers in their off-season. Start serving more appropriately priced wine. (you would be pushed to spend 85 Euros on Champagne.
Location: At this time of year most is shut.
Parking hardly secure - by side of road. Reception good but bar manager arrogant and wine was standard 14E a glass (85 E a bottle) and it was indifferent french wine. Others in the bar refused to drink wine for the same reasons. Restaurant food dreadful. Worst steak I've had in 5 years of travelling all over france. Sent it back but no refund and barely an apology. We left after only 1 night of a 2 night stop and went to a mercure in Aix les bains (excellent).. View from our room in Les Alpes de Huez?- broken fence panels, boxes of dead plants - really poor management. Then we find that the village is virtually closed in June and he hotel looked like it needed a refresher as did the village. Very overgrown with weeds and unkempt grass . We were the ONLY visitor all day at the tourist office. DONT GO THERE UNLESS YOUR CYCLE MAD OR A SKIER.

very pleasant stay.

Pros: Convenient, comfortable, great food
Cons: Parking places, lower end wine list.
Location: convenient for the slopes but near the shops.
Great location close to the slopes but near the shops, next door to a drag lift and opposite a transfer point to the main lift centre 5 minutes away so no carrying of equipment long distances. Excellent food, rooms and facilities. Nice bar, well decorated as was the whole hotel and a very good musician each night providing a range of music. If there was a negative to be found they could do with a house wine on the menu, the cheapest on the menu was Eur30 which seemed a little high for France though the quality was good. All in all a great and convenient place to stay.

Ideal location and excellent facilities

Posted Jun 13, 2015
Pros: Everything, the décor was winter chic (ready for the ski season) which didn't feel out of place in the summer.
Location: Ideally located next to the main ski left (for winter) and walking distance to lots of lovely shops and restaurants
The hotel was an ideal base for us, my husband spent his time cycling the iconic local climbs and I was able to relax, in comfort waiting for his weary return! The buffet breakfast was first class, with an excellent choice to even satisfy the fussiest of eaters. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, arranging places to eat ( as the restaurant wasn't open in the evenings) to checking whether the local cycling climbs were open or not. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Alpe D'Huez

Short cycling stay

Pros: The situation. The views from our windows at the front of the building were stunning. The staff were very helpful. Excellent play room forthe kids.
Cons: The restaurant was closed but the hotel staff were very helpf to us in booking restaurants for us. Some end of season diy needed.
Location: End of season meant some places were closed but easy assess to ski lifts, shops, restaurants.
My brother booked this hotel for his 60th birthday party having stayed here before. Facilities for cyclists were excellent. Store roon, sauna, jacuzzi. We were made very welcome by all the staff. The hotel offered itself to our large group and we were all well looked after. Our rooms were all spacious and well appointed.
