Trains, Stains, I Must Complain!Posted Apr 28, 2017 on Hotels
Oak Tree Inn is a small hotel with the check in registration next door at the diner. It might be better described as the overnight dorm for railroad employees as most of the rooms were occupied by shifts of workers. They are the hotel's bread and butter. I was greeted by Chris at diner. He was wearing both restaurant and hotel desk hats at once. Friendly, I was assigned a room only to find the door open, TV on, trash etc. Went back to Chris who said it was vacant and he would get housekeeping to finish cleaning it. They were unavailable so Chris wore another hat and emptied trash and got soap etc. I discovered later that the bathroom had not been cleaned or hadn't been cleaned properly. There was urine at base of toilet and squashed small piece of feces on floor ! Just glad I wasn't the one who squished it but Yuk! Oil,dirt, grease built up on floor of shower. Not sure if it was the result over time from so many workers and quick change overs but it was pretty gross! Sucked it up and cleaned best I could myself, slept and got out first thing in morning. Housekeeping was on site early and cleaning rooms for the next shift of workers and several were in the lounge awaiting pick-up for their next shift. Wouldn't recommend this hotel for a tourist visiting Alpine area and if for business inspect the room first!!

Great stay very quiet, disappointed that they did away with the free breakfast, bathroom shower knobs have a lot of soap mildew, comfortable king size bed. Friendly and attentive staff.

Nice motel in Alpine TexasPosted Mar 12, 2017 on Orbitz
Cons: Only one wash rag in bath. For two people?
Location: Marfa lights, Big Bend State park.
It was not Holiday Inn but for price very good for people who are visiting the area.

The room was filthy. Then they double charged my AMEX after I had paid Hotels.com prior to getting to the hotel. Poor service. Poor check-in accessibility. Poor, Poor, Poor!!!!!
