Staff was very nice. Great location right near the lift up to the fort. Limited parking so make sure to call ahead.

AVOID! OK location-bad service, cleanliness, bed.

Location good. It ends there. Rude front desk clerk (Christian), disorganized breakfast (understaffed), bad foam mattresses. The place is just not good. Sorry. Salzburg is lovely- but stay elsewhere.

excellent hotel very well located

Pros: location, breakfast and staff
Cons: size of room
Location: located right under the Fortress, one block from funicular to Fortress, one block from major squares and shopping.
The location of this hotel is deal for visiting this city. It is right under the Fortress, one block from all major squares and shopping streets. the staff is very friendly, helpful and all speak English. the breakfast is delicious with bread, eggs, meat, cheese, cereals, fruits, etc. The room with twin beds was very small but functional with tv, small table, two wooden chairs, very small bathroom but again modern and functional.

An eclectic and historic hotel

Posted Oct 6, 2017
The Hotel Kasererbräu is a piece of history located in the Altstadt section of Salzburg. As I understand, it houses the first cinema in Salzburg and the theater is still functioning, the Hotel operating it, showing art and cult films. Within the Roman themed theater is an exposed piece of the actual Wall built by the Romans when Salzburg was a Roman settlement. It also is connected to a restaurant. My room was a standard room, full size bed, a small table, chair, bed side table and a private bath. In the wardrobe closet was a security safe and an available table fan. The room is not air conditioned but the window opened and caught breezes and I was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, a selection of eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, cereals etc. The desk staff was very helpful and informative. They assisted me with directions, tickets, reservations and arranged for a taxi to the train station when I departed. My stay at the Kasererbräu was quite pleasant and I would enjoy staying with the Kasererbräu again on a future visit to Salzburg.

Must stay here

So close to everything you need to see. It's about 2.5km away from the station but that's great because the station is in the not so nice and pretty section

Excellent location in the Aldstadt

Posted Aug 6, 2017
Comfortable, individually styled and historic hotel ideally located in the Aldstadt area of Salzburg. Kaigasse is a bustling street during the day, with street café (very few cars), but very quiet between midnight and about 6 am, so not disturbing sleep. Hotel is conveniently located for the fortress, the cathedral quarter and museums. About a 15 minute walk to Mirabell Platz, which is the starting point for most tours out of the city, and 10 minutes to the theatre. Historic hotel with lots of character. Rooms were comfortable and clean, though no air conditioning which might be a problem in the height of summer (a fan was provided, which helped). Good sized ensuite with a bath as well as a nice powerful shower. Excellent buffet style all you can eat breakfast. Catered for all requirements including cereals, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, bacon and egg, and a variety of breads, croissants etc. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and able to provide information about local amenities, bus routes etc.

Good central location

Posted Aug 2, 2017
Good location for old part of the city and tourist spots. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Room ok but needed updating. Looked tired. Squeaky boards, beds and furniture old and not in keeping with current standards. Not a 4 star hotel. 3 only in my opinion. Breakfast good. Most staff very helpful. Bathroom needed upgrading. Room comfort only average.
