Excellent location in the AldstadtPosted Aug 6, 2017
Comfortable, individually styled and historic hotel ideally located in the Aldstadt area of Salzburg. Kaigasse is a bustling street during the day, with street café (very few cars), but very quiet between midnight and about 6 am, so not disturbing sleep. Hotel is conveniently located for the fortress, the cathedral quarter and museums. About a 15 minute walk to Mirabell Platz, which is the starting point for most tours out of the city, and 10 minutes to the theatre. Historic hotel with lots of character. Rooms were comfortable and clean, though no air conditioning which might be a problem in the height of summer (a fan was provided, which helped). Good sized ensuite with a bath as well as a nice powerful shower. Excellent buffet style all you can eat breakfast. Catered for all requirements including cereals, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, bacon and egg, and a variety of breads, croissants etc. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and able to provide information about local amenities, bus routes etc.

Good central locationPosted Aug 2, 2017
Good location for old part of the city and tourist spots. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Room ok but needed updating. Looked tired. Squeaky boards, beds and furniture old and not in keeping with current standards. Not a 4 star hotel. 3 only in my opinion. Breakfast good. Most staff very helpful. Bathroom needed upgrading. Room comfort only average.

This was a fine hotel in a great location. Salzburg is definitely worth visiting and this makes an easy home base. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel in the cultural part of SalzburgPosted Jul 5, 2017
Although we were placed into the adjacent building (not the main building), the amenities were good enough to warrant a very pleasant stay, and the bed was very comfortable, although the equipment in the kitchenette could be replaced with newer ones. Location of the hotel was superb and within short walking distance to most attractions within Salzburg.

Beautiful stay and great amenitiesPosted Jun 28, 2017
Right in the old City. Just a few minutes' walk from the fortress, Mozartplatz, Mozart's birthplace, the river, local pubs and biergartens, plus many other attractions. Safe neighborhood and quiet, comfortable sleeping.

Only location is greatPosted Jun 3, 2017
For a full night's sleep stay ten minutes walk in the new town. This hotel has a fantastic location in the old town but with it comes sleepless nights during the warmer summer months. The reason for this, no air con so you are forced to open the windows for air. You are then hit with a barrage of noise constantly throughout the night. From the restaurant below to people going back to their hotels, delivery trucks at 4am etc etc. Cleanliness of rooms is really bad, we had to change room due to could of hair all over the bathroom. The new room shower could not drain the water so leaked into the bedroom. On the bright side, close to old town sites but to walk ten minutes to quieter new part would mean sleep.
