disillusioned client at The Best Western Hotel

Posted Oct 11, 2015
Pros: the sea
Cons: Seating areas outside other than pool. Pillows/mattress. Food.
Location: Nothing nearby. Location of hotel to sea good. Amalfi too far.
Very disappointing. Some staff rude being told to move when asking them to stop building work on the only day suitable to bath by the sea. No bath robes few toiletries. Food poor not able to eat breakfast on open terrace. Location not stones throw from Amalfi. 40 min walk or 25 euro taxi after 6.30. Shuttle times limited. Outside seating, other than sunbeds, very limited, uncomfortable and shabby. Nowhere to congregate in evening other than restrauant. Altogether a very disappointing experience. It's saving grace being the sea views. I would not recommend this hotel.

The beds were hard as rock, the washroom was so small and the shower stall was off the track most of the time. On Sunday night all restaurants were closed to the guests for a wedding. Considering the isolated location, it was very difficult to have dinner. As well as the noise from the wedding, we could not wait to get out of there. Definitely not a four star hotel

Nice hotel with good views but needs a facelift

Posted Sep 14, 2015
Arrival at the hotel was good but we soon realised that it is located no where near to Ravello unless you want to pay Euros 30 for a taxi each way. The hotel should tell people about the loccal bus service Food is pretty good in the restauarant and the staff are friendly If you're looking for a restful nights sleep it may not be the place for you given you can hear every sound, to the extend we could hear our room neighbour going to the toilet. WiFi almost appauling unless you're in the restaurant. Hotel with potential if some money was spent

Basic hotel inconvenient location

Posted Sep 9, 2015
Friendly & helpful staff make up for this rather basic hotel inbetween amalfi and minori, if you do not have a car re consider your stay here as you will have to rely on taxis, rooms extremely basic unless you book a de lux suit, bed & pillows rock hard.

Beautiful "ship" like hotel

My husband and I was there because our friends got married. The hotel was beautiful. Reminded me of being on a ship.

The Hotel Marmorata was a wonderful hotel in a fabulous location. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Parking was 10 EU per night.

Great place to stay, amazing sea views.

Posted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: Staff great, beautiful views, quiet location
Cons: Gym is not great, and too hot. Wi fi can be intermittent. Room furnishings could be better. No dressing table or place to put toiletries.
Location: So many places to visit- Capri, Sorrento, small towns road and boat trips. Amalfi and Minori nearest towns.
Stayed 7 nights- room amazing view, out to sea, coastline, clifftop pool etc. Room in older part of hotel, had small balcony, not enough room for seating, the window/door opened and with the insect mesh, the sea sounded wonderful. Restaurant-waiters very professional, breakfast staff, efficient and friendly, reception staff very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. Very clean small hotel, would recommend highly. Breakfast plentiful, lots of choice. Omelette small additional fee. Ask for room tea/coffee tray if reqd. Tipping-as all expenses went on final bill, was unsure of tipping, so left envelope at reception for sharing, tipped housemaid too. Downsides, lots of steps- hotel is built into cliff, historically a paper mill.Hotel is slightly isolated, no local shop, 1 pizzeria nearby, road has no pavement, so cars, buses are very close. Driving here needs confidence as roads narrow, sharp bends- buses, mopeds everywhere. Transfer from airport-private taxi 110 euros each way! didn't find alternative. Pool is small, sea is right there, with inflatables if reqd, an area is roped off for guests. Gym not great and hot. The hotel photos are accurate- views from restaurant, breakfast lounge are wonderful. The sun sets behind the mountain, so no sunset. Shuttle bus to Amalfi leaves and drops you back at set times. A local bus 1.20 euros takes you to nearest towns or can walk- Amalfi 30mins and Minori 15mins are closest. 1 week is not enough Amalfi Coast is truly amazing.

Fantastic hotel - great location & views

Posted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Right on the sea, great views, reasonable parking cost per day, friendly staff
Cons: The bed that we had in the room wasn't very comfortable and squeaked every time you moved.
Location: Great location. Easy access to Ravello town and well as the restaurants near by.
What a fantastic hotel with great views and easy access for many areas along the Amalfi Coast. Being able to relax by the pool with direct access into the sea was wonderful. Staff were really friendly and helpful. They also provided great recommendations to local restaurants. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family - I think we may go again next year!

Tolles Hotel in super Lage

Posted Aug 25, 2015
