We liked everything...especially the staff & view

Posted Oct 19, 2016 on Hotels
Manuel and Salvatore were great hosts. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from town center but was very welcoming and private. Few rooms made it feel more exclusive. Hosts were very helpful and tried to make our stay memorable.. which they did. Very nice breakfast. The view from the patio overlooked all Amalfi and the bay. Could not have been more pleased. Would definitely return to Hotel Villa Annalara!!

Small villa, not too far up the hill

Posted Jun 22, 2016
Pros: Everything. A lift brought us up from the street.
Cons: Can't think.
Location: Close to tours and the water (10 Minute walk).
We had a wonderful stay at Annalara, complemented by the two brothers Salvatore and Manuel. Nothing was too much trouble for them, dinners were amazing, even our first one at 11.00pm. Great room just off the eating patio which has a view down to the sea.

The elevator was very helpful and the hotel had wonderful proximity to the main shopping square. Everyone was very friendly and the experience exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend!

Perfect and Quaint

Posted Jun 12, 2016 on Hotels
Small hotel that is family owned and operated. This place is a jewel. A homemade meal is prepared each evening, and the brothers who run the hotel are delightful. Highly recommend! It is a 300 meter walk uphill on a cobblestone street from the bus/ferry stop. It is a bit of a haul with luggage, otherwise not a big deal. If you arrive via taxi, insist the driver drop you off at the hotel entrance.

Worst hotel experience ever

Posted May 27, 2016
Pros: Nothing, given it's false advertising, the proprietors boorish behavior, and his refusal to refund payment for something he couldn't provide.
Cons: Everything
Location: The town of Amalfi is in a beautiful location with lots to do. This hotel's location doesn't make those things easily accessible.
This hotel was booked through Expedia. A deluxe room with sea view was guaranteed and prepaid. The hotel did not have such a room available and refused to issue a refund even though they didn't have the room available, instead offering a deluxe room with a view of a rockface. Rather than stay we left to find alternative accommodation - which we did, at half the price with a sea view. This hotel's website gives the impression it is near the sea. It isn't. What sea views it has are from a distance. It is very difficult to find, being a long way up a long narrow back street. We asked several people in Amalfi for directions to it and nobody had heard of it.

A Lovely Place to Stay in Amalfi

Posted Apr 20, 2016 on Hotels
Stayed 11 nights at this hotel in April, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Amalfi. The only negative was that the evening meals were generally a bit unimpressive (quality and portion size) esp. when compared to the overall high standard. But this could be because this is a new service they're introducing so, hopefully, they'll bring this up to scratch before too long. PS/ Don't let that put you off, as there are loads of alternative places to eat in the town.

Nice location

Posted Apr 12, 2016
Pros: Location
Nice hotel, great location in town. Rooms were nice and clean. Not sure it was worth the extra money for the water view. Window was a large skylight, kind of hard to look out. You will have to climb some stairs to get to your room. Their is an elevator for most of it. If you have a car parking is $20 per day. I would definitely stay again. Staff was nice and it had nice grounds with great outside sitting areas with great veiws overlooking the city.
