Lovely home with character and a wonderful host

Posted Jun 2, 2016
This old home is high in the coastal mountains of Viere near Salerno. Upper Viere is quaint and self sufficient with a good restaurant. Very quiet and has a spectacular view; breakfast on the terrace with the view of the sea was a great way to start the day. Unavoidable circumstances prevented us from meeting Rosa, but Marco was a great host. Parking and some stairs may be a challenge but Marco is right there to help. Public transit by bus and ferry to other places such as Positano is possible. We would be happy to return.

Beautiful and Welcoming

Posted Oct 1, 2015
Pros: Everything! The hosts - Marco & Rosa make this BnB what it is.
Cons: The WiFi single was a little poor but we found some spots that it worked well enough for basic tasks.
Location: You can reach Il Melograno from Naples airport through various transport options, although we took a shuttle bus and it was very convenient (1 Hour)
My partner and I stayed at Il Melograno for 8 days in September. The BnB is run by Marco and Rosa who are hugely accommodating and wonderful characters. They will go out of their way to ensure your stay with them is the best they can possibly provide. Our hosts helped us with maps, recommended restaurants and transport options to/from various beauty spots on the Amalfi Coast. Fresh breakfast served daily overlooking the small but beautiful town of Vietri Sul Mare was a joy and I woke every morning with a smile on my face wondering what fantastic freshly baked delight awaited me that morning! Fresh coffee, croissants and fruit juice complemented the breakfast perfectly :) The room had a large comfortable double bed, a fan and some sort of incense burner that kept the mozzies at bay. There was more than enough spare sheets and extra duvets for a chilly night! We had our own kitchen with everything I needed and dining room with a beautiful ceramic table. Everything about Il Melograno has character and although it's basic it's done to a huge standard. Simple done well. We rented a scooter from Amalfi Bike Rental, just down the road before the bridge into Vietri Sul Mare which gave us free travel across the entire Amalfi Coast. Everyday we packed up what was left of the huge breakfast and headed off to explore all along the coast, venturing as far as Positano and even Pompeii (Beautiful drive over the mountains!). A pure joy! Thank you Marco and Rosa!
