The casino next door had the bass blaring until 1am. The the patrons gather in the courtyard after closing for the next hour. When the casino was closed ,the staff of the hotel partied until done. I was originally assigned a dorm room but because the wifi wasn't working. And the pool was not functioning as well. Not a good experience for my first visit. Don't send anyone else there. Pleasr

Pedro's Inn is no longer the backpacker hotel it once was. Under new ownership, truly different environment. Environment is more of a local Belizean feel, than backpacker/hostel feel. The indoor bar and grill is now a club which has been closed due to covid. There is an outdoor bar and restaurant. The staff is still very helpful and friendly! They were always willing to help with any request. We were disappointed with the lack of lounge chairs by the pool. (picture is old on all advertisements) There are only picnic tables. The beds were also very uncomfortable. Air conditioning was nice and the food was always good!

Shower's hot water did not work nearly every day. We had to track down a maintenance person to try and get the hot water to work. 3 of thee days we were there, we were not able to shower at all. Staff was cordial, but I could tell that they did not appreciate my constant requests to correct this basic issue.

Nice budget accommodation.
Nice place. Backpackers spot for sure. Sometimes housekeeping would come into room but not leave soap (which is very cheaply made). A few times they didn’t leave towels and had to ask the office. Weird. Decent place to stay when looking for a reasonable place to stay.

Cheap place. Super friendly staff. Rowdy nights.
All staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Not the most comfortable beds, but the low price reflects that. Our bathroom ceiling leaked a little water after rain and our friends room completely flooded. Location was next to backside of airstrip. "Ladies night" was more of a party for the locals that went from about 11pm until 4am when the police decided to finally shut things down from the chaos. The owners dogs were friendly and roamed the property. A veterinary clinic was also located on site. We spent time at the sister hotel located directly on the beach since Pedro's is only a few blocks away.

Pedro's Hotel is definitely a place you go to save money. The first morning we were there, the water just stopped. No running water. The staff had no insight as to why and never offered any compensation or anything more than "it shouldn't happen again". We had to request full sized towels because the only ones we were initially given were hand towels. It's right next door to the animal shelter, so you'll hear barking all night long. The room smelled slightly of urine. The locking safe is about big enough to put a cell phone in, but not a laptop or anything like that. But, it's air conditioned, cheap, and close to the city. I wouldn't stay here again, but it wasn't my worst experience.

Too many short cuts by hotel
Too many short cuts by hotel to save money. 16” TV, no hot water for Vanity, shower head right across the opening so to turn it on you either had to get sprayed cold water or hide behind the curtain, side table lamp but no outlet to plug it in, blanket was no more than a thin cover, pillowsnlumoy, heater wouldnt turn on which would’ve liked since it was cold and rainy. Got out of there first thing in morning. If it wasnt for the rain and how far it was from downtown, would’ve left same night we checked in. Money lost wasnt worth the discomfort all around. Hate to write a bad review but can’t recommend this place in good conscious.

Good comfortable budget hotel near to town
This is a good simple hotel about 10 minutes stroll into the centre of San Pedro. The staff are very friendly and helpful eg I wanted to go diving and this was sorted out in minutes. The rooms were clean and serviced every day. There is a pool with loungers around it which was nice to go and relax by when I felt like doing not much. The bar is open from 4pm and serves food (although not many people eat there, the homemade pizzas are wonderful). San Pedro hotels are generally expensive and this is a good place to go if you're on a budget and don't need the frills of 5* luxury. It's easy to get to the centre of town, the airport, ferries to the mainland, dive schools etc.

No hot water, uncomfortable bedding
The beds were uncomfortable and you could feel the individual cotton balls in the tiny pillow (singular) provided. The shower did not drain and there was no hot water. The air conditioning made a noise louder than a lawnmower until finally something clacked loudly and a piece of metal fell out onto me. The TV is a desktop monitor. You aren't allowed extra towels unless you turn in your existing ones—and on the subject, we were charged for destroying a towel despite rather unremarkable shower habits? Finally, be advised that wifi is only available around the office.

The overall place was pretty nice. Room was small and bed was uncomfortable but still a good deal for those on a budget. The cleanliness was at a level to be expected for the price. Would definitely stay here again. Pretty cool location because it’s just on the outside of town (10 min walk). But that allows you too explore other areas too. BONUS: they allow you too use the amenities at a nicer resort style place down the street because I think it is related. This area has a nice little beach and little pool with restaurant.

Love the place
I left my wallet in the laundry, which they do inexpensively, and got it back with all contents. (I tipped the housekeepers well at least, but it wasn't required.) Service is awesome, the lady at the front desk is great, and the owner can give you travel advice. A little off the main area, but you get it a little quieter in exchange. Easy walk to downtown. Or you can get one of those carts, I walk.

One of the best weeks of my life!
I spent a week at Pedro's for my birthday in January, 2017. I didn't have much time to plan, so I chose Belize and Pedro's without being able to do a lot of research. I was traveling alone, and they fit my minimum requirements and budget. HOWEVER, I was blown away by my entire experience there. It was one of, if not the single most, greatest vacations I've ever had. As a solo or small group traveler, I definitely recommend staying here. I was comfortable, treated well, shown the respect a customer would expect, and just generally positive and happy throughout my stay. Start to finish, the staff were amazing. They absolutely go out of their way to make sure you have a great time while you're there. I highly recommend getting to know the staff and taking their recommendations for activities around the island. If you have anything in particular you want to do, they can also help you find it and book reservations or spots on tours for you. Seriously, I'm not the type to do reviews or give praise where it isn't earned, and the people at Pedro's 100% earned it! I didn't spend much time in my actual room, because I was out having fun all the time, so I was happy with just having a bed, a private bathroom, and air conditioning when I finally needed to get cleaned up and pass out. The bar on the ground floor in the main area is a great place to hang out and also a likely spot to meet the owner (which is a MUST). If you like pizza, you should definitely try it there. Talk to everyone!

Great Place To Stay, Meet Locals and Travelers Too
Had a great time on the Island of San Pedro. The hotel has several structures, with a bar/ restaurant (try the pizza, my girlfriend made pizzas for 15 years, and she loved it!) that serves as a bit of a hot spot for locals. Met lots of great people from all over the world, and lots of locals. The hotel has a different event going on every night so there is always something to do. The rooms are a bit small, but they have everything you will need, just make sure not to drink the tap water anywhere on the island (you'll notice the locals only drink bottled water. When in rome, act as the romans do).

Bbudget-friendly, decent place to stay...
I've stayed at Pedro's Inn a number of times, so I had a good idea what to expect. It's a very adequate, mostly comfortable place, convenient to any number of activities you're looking for in San Pedro. I went to dive for a few days, so I didn't need anything fancy. The staff was courteous as usual, some of the guests were discourteous, coming in late and making noise at midnight. Most dive trips require getting to the dock early, so being awakened in the middle of the night was aggravating. The Wi-Fi access seemed better this time, though more people were on it which caused bandwith issues... not the end of the world. The room was cleaned daily and there is cable if you want to watch it. I'd love for the owner to put little refrigerators in the rooms, as it would help with keeping some food. Other than that, it's a budget-friendly decent place to stay.

Disappointing stay.
My husband and I recently stayed at Pedro's hotel. While we knew we didn't have a room with a "pool view" we did not know that we were staying in the hostel across the street. The room was small, but adequate if mainly used for sleeping. WIFI does not work in these rooms so you have to go outside, or over toward the main office if you need signal. We were short on washcloths, hand towels, or regular towels each day and had to walk to the office to get them ourselves. While there, we had a 6 hour water outage from 11am-5pm, which the office said they knew was scheduled, however did not give us any notice. Another morning, there was a scheduled power outage that lasted about 2 hours. Again no one from Pedro's let us know. We requested our sheets be changed after staying for 4 days(which didn't happen), then had to get our own sheets from the front office that night and we changed the bed. The shower was small and had some mildew/mold growing in it. I would NOT want to bring children here. We ate at Pedro's bar the first night we arrived and did have some delicious pizza. There are two large dogs hang out in the bar as well and we found the dog smell overwhelming so we chose not to eat there again. The sister beach had a nice lounge chair area and we enjoyed going off the water slide on the pier. Due to the amount of sea grass piled along the beach we couldn't wade in the water or go swimming, but did enjoy the breeze while lounging in the shade.

Worst hotel I've stayed at
Im not even sure where to start with explaining this nightmare: The room had no window which made it dark and miserable. It clearly hasn't been dusted in quiet some time. There were holes throughout that bugs routinely crawled out of. The bathroom came with roaches at no extra charge at least. The walls were paper thin so we had the pleasure of listening to the neighboring rooms conversations all night also the sound of them fornicating so if that's what youre into I would recommend this place. Also the room came without a phone for service. This is something that normally would not bother me but on this trip when it was our first night in a new country and someone banged on our door screaming in a foreign language at 3am I was kinda wishing we had a phone to call for help. It turned out to be drunk travellers but at the time we had no idea and no one to call for help which made it very unsettling. The staff wasn't very concerned with our complaints about this though which made it more aggravating. The bed was supposed to be a king bed but was clearly two small beds pushed together which left a gap in between and also left me with my legs hanging over the end and made it even harder to sleep.. The hotel also doubles as an animal hospital for some reason so any time day or night you will hear dogs barking. We are the kind of people that spend minimal time in our room on vacation but this place was too terrible so we ended up moving to another hotel to get away from it.

Decent place - nothing fancy
This was our first trip to San Pedro so we didn't know what to expect. It is a lot busier than Caye Caulker. We stayed at San Pedro's in one of their "deluxe" rooms. It was nothing special but was affordable. The staff was excellent. There are two swimming pools there - nice to take a dip to cool off. There is also a restaurant on site reported to have great pizza. We went to check it out but it was $25 Belize for the small and I think $45 Belize for a large. We took a pass on it. I guess Pedro's Hotel has a mix of rooms - part hostel, part hotel. It didn't seem busy at all. I think our opinion of our stay was biased because we had what must have been a 400 pound person with insomnia in the room directly above us. Stomping all night so we didn't get any sleep for the two nights we were there. Also, the internet was hit and miss.

Cheap option as a base to San Pedro
Pedro's Hotel was a nice experience to the first leg of our trip in Belize. My boyfriend and I stayed in a room away from the pool and bar which I found was a good idea (it get get loud at night near the bar). The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Their excursion prices are on par with nearby places, so you don't have to look far for a snorkeling or diving company. The room was cleaned daily and the bed was comfortable. I recommend staying here if you want to save some money. It's also a good place to meet some new people by the pool or bar. It is close to the beach, but the path there can be very muddy if it rained recently, just a head's up! We ended up renting a golf cart to go back and forth from town, but the walk along the beach is nice.

We would recommend this place. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool area and appreciated the air conditioning. We were happy with what we got for the price. 4/5 for cleanliness because there was a very bad smell coming from the sink. They need to do safety improvements, however. Our fire alarm was missing from our room and the alarm was missing from the hallway as well for the entirety of our stay.

2 star price, 5 star service
The hotel is located 2 blocks of the main road, it is not paved. When I drove up I was a little taken aback, however my concerns were quickly eliminated. The hotel is in great condition, but what makes t a great stay is the Staff. Starting with Peter, the owner, he runs a tight operation. The people that work for him like their jobs and it shows in the service that they provide. Megan in the office is always ready to help, She got me a golf cart one day and set up a great Snorkeling trip, and had one of the guys drive to the boat. Ricardo and Charles are around to point you in the right direction. The girls that clean the rooms are very nice, clean sheets and towels everyday. The room was very nice, great bed, new and clean bathroom and lots of TV options. I arrived on Christmas Eve, and met Peter the next day. Knowing I was by myself, he took me to his other property, Caribbean Villas Resort, for Breakfast and invited me to his private Christmas dinner. If you are a guest of Pedro's you can use the CVR facilities. It's about a 5 min. walk. Everyone really made me feel like it was home. The restaurant and bar at Pedro's was a lot of fun. Jammie and Diane were great, and the food was excellent. Beers were cheap and ice cold. I was a little concerned that the price was too cheap, but I stayed there because of the reviews. The reviews were spot on, and it turned out to be a great deal. I would defiantly stay there again.

As older woman solo traveller, when I asked about wifi in the room, owner told me I was in wrong hotel, it was a party hotel for young people and I did not belong there. Be aware as it was not advertised as such. In fact there were several older people there and it was fine. Later in my stay I asked for a better room and was given it complimentary.

Safe and basic hotel with plenty of options
Pedro's was what I expected. Basic simple hotel with everything you need provided you don't have to have the best. Good location that is better than your first impression once you get to know the town. Proximity to airport runway was not an issue for me. The planes are small and not very loud. The hostel rooms are bare boned and I upgraded to a hotel room with private shower, tv, ac and bar fridge. All I needed. The use of Carribean villa beach was a real plus and the owner Peter was very generous with buying a round in the bar. likely best value on the island. Just bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Wednesday ladies night can really be loud Thanks and hope to see you again.
