Good Jumping-Off Point

Posted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: Clean air, pleasant environment in a small forest.
Cons: Nothing much.
Location: People who prefer town life should not stay here, but those who like some peace and quiet will enjoy the atmosphere.
The hotel is located in a small forest on the outskirts of Amboise. It's a terrific base from which to visit some of the sites throughout the Loire Valley, especially the many chateaux. On the other hand, if you prefer to wander out of a hotel and stroll down the street to shops and restaurants, this is definitely not the place for you. The hotel has a good restaurant, but otherwise it's pretty isolated from the hustle and bustle of the town. Good for families, though.

A Great Base to See Chateau Counrty

Posted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels
This hotel is south of Amboise, but is in a GREAT location to visit several of the best Chateau's in France! It is a great value for the price and the service is super friendly, attentive, and caring about their hotel guests. It does require an 8 minute drive to get to the shops and restaurants in Amboise for the evening, and there is not much around it but wonderful open land. The hotel is casual, but they have a nice pool, an enjoyable sitting area where you can get some of the best coffee in France, and a playground area for kids. The rooms are very clean, functional, pleasantly decorated, and we enjoyed the small balcony to sip wine on at night. All in all, a great choice for chateau travel.

Extremely helpful staff. Pretty gardens. Great food. A little too far from town to walk in the evenings.
