I was extremely excited about our trip to the InterContinental because I heard lavish things about the service from friends native to Amman. When I got to the hotel, the service was great, as usual, but the room turned out to be anything less than impressive. My family and I always book at 5 star hotels and this is by no means even a 3-star hotel. When I told my Amman friends they informed me that I was put in what’s considered the “old tower” and there’s a renovated side of the hotel. It would have been nice to know that upon check-in, especially considering we had an infant who needed a roll-away crib, which made the room unbearably smaller than it already was. We were given a substandard room (maybe because we booked using a 3rd party?). I even had to call and have the bathroom cleaned as there were yellow dots on the toilet. Overall my stay in Amman was superb, but the quality of the room at the InterContinental was a disappointment. I wish we were put in the renovated side because it would have changed our whole experience.

The hospitality was the best part of the stay. All staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. One did stand out however. At the concierge, Mr. Mohammed Jamjoum went out of his way to assist my husband and I and he deserves to be mentioned specifically. He is an asset to the property.

Stayed twice for one night - on arrival to Jordan and before leaving Jordan. First stay service was very good. Second day service was ok - not as attentive when they are busy (at first arrival, with luggage, etc). Also after staying at the Kempinzki in Dead Sea amd Aqaba we saw the difference in standard (size of room, quality of service, etc). Location of Intercontinental is in a very nice neighborhood - lots of embassies.
