Good location. Quite noisy at night. Could hear other guests in rooms beside very clearly and was quite loud in the night. Friendly staff.

I recommend the larger rooms at the back of the hotel. The staff are beyond friendly and helpful. A very walkable location with tons of dining options within a 10min radius.

Hotel is well run and clean but we were given a ridiculously tiny room for two people, not at all as in the photos. Room should at most be considered a small single room at a much lower cost than we had to pay.

Not good value. Perhaps other rooms in this facility are roomier? This room fit two single beds in a walled nook and faced the noisy street. Ear plugs were provided! Be careful. Photos are deceptive. Otherwise the room was clean and staff were courteous,

Clean, Great Location, But Extra fees
The Alp Hotel is in a great location, right next to a bus stop that takes you right to Amsterdam Centraal. There was enough room for our family. The guy at the front desk was friendly & helpful. The only issue we had was the unexpected additional charges. Apparently there was an extra tax that hadn't been included in the original cost of the room. It was about $20. Also, when I booked the room, I thought we could fit our family of four into a room with three beds because our youngest is small enough to share a bed with my husband and I. However, the hotel wouldn't allow us to stay without paying another $60 for the extra person. Even after paying more, we didn't receive any extra bedding, so she still ended up sleeping with us. I realize this was my error for not confirming the correct number of people, but it ended up costing more than I feel was reasonable.

Great Stay but could be improved
The Good: Location was great, not to far of a walk to major attractions, located right by a tram stop which is very convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean, room was very appealing, clean, and welcoming! Things that could be improved: Bed mattresses were not very comfortable, and the noises from each floor can be heard. I'm not sure if this is a Dutch thing or not, but there aren't bed sheets, just a comforter and mattress sheet cover. It can get pretty warm in the room even with the door open, there isn't much air movement. They did provide a small desk fan however this didn't do to much. If you have issues with stairs then this might be a pass as there is no lift and the stairs are quite steep (like many in Amsterdam). Overall: I'd stay here again if it were in winter where I knew the heat wouldn't be an issue. The hotel overall was in great shape, welcoming, and the staff was exceptional. With a few tweaks this could be a 5/5!

There are so many positives about this hotel. It is super super clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The room was fitted with a new jacuzzi bath and we got free chocolates in the room every day. There's even a sink and a fridge in the room. However, it was a bit further away from the main sites than I would have liked and was situated right by a busy tram and road junction. The trams were really noisy although they did stop running overnight. The walls of the hotel are also very thin and there is limited space in the corridor, so if guests come in chatting at normal volume, the acoustics can make it quite loud. The hotel supplies earplugs and I now know why. It is not clear from the website if breakfast is provided or available. It is NOT. They have an arrangement with a local cafe where you can order breakfast to be delivered but this was a bagel shop and not what we wanted for breakfast. I woukd recommend the Breakfast Club which is about a 5 min walk away. On the whole, there are so many plus points. It depends what you want in a hotel I guess.

Clean and convenient treasure.
Small hotel with extremely friendly staff. No elevator, but the staff helped us with our luggage. Very clean and comfortable bed even though it was fairly small. All necessary amenities. Nice little balcony. Very convenient as the 13 tram stops right outside the door. Would stay again.

All staff are super friendly and accommodating. They even helped us carry our bags esp there’s no elevator. It is in a corner so transportation is so much easier to access and walkable to places like Jordaan area. The room we stayed in is small, but clean and cute with a balcony. Overall, I recommend this place.

Helpful and generous staff makes this place lovely. Be in good shape, the stairs are steep as is anywhere in Amsterdam. Room was a bit small but recently updated with an awesome jetted tub. Good to soak in after climbing 4 flights of stairs! Great location for sightseeing and shopping.

If you got loads of luggage this is NOT the place to be, there's no lift, the stairs are horrible and extremely narrow and nobody will help you bring your stuff up...

Fantastic staff who went over and above with their attentive service. Breakfast was very good enjoyed the free fruit and tea and coffee available . Yes the stairs are typically Dutch steep worth the 40 plus stairs to have a room at the top with a spa bath and garden view .comfortable beds it was a bijoux and comfortable room. So easy to negotiate transport to and from central station as the no 13 tram stops outside the hotel and they send an email with the details before you arrive with details how to get to the hotel. 5 stars all round .

The location is incredible, beautiful area, safe, plenty of restaurants, close to many point of interests and a great food marker literally across the street. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very good and coffee/tea available around the clock. There is a beautiful patio at the back. Only caution is that there are 4 floors and there is no lift. You need to take a narrow winding staircase, so I will not recommend to those with mobility issues.

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and the staff never fail in the effort they put in to ensuring people enjoy their stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The breakfast offers a wide continental choice, there is unlimited hot drinks all day/night. You get bottled water, an apple and a chocolate in your room every day. Love it here. There is a tram stop right outside for ease of exploring the city and again staff will advise on the best teams to get you where you want to go.

My stay at this property was great. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, kind and welcoming. If needed, they helped in guiding visitors of what was in the city and gave great suggestions of great city sites. From check-in to service to amenities, the staff was professional. The location of the property is great as it is close to everything and within walking distance. The property is always clean and presentable.

Front desk people were so nice especially the tall guy who we made conversation that he's been working there for 11 years, you can just tell he loves his job and the lady who helped us with tour booking. Nice location. Easy to find. Worth the buck. Only thing is it does not have a lift but I've noticed this is common in Amsterdam. And again employees were nice enough to check us in early and help transport our luggages. Would deff come back here again!

Phenomenal hotel for seeing the city - great location for taking the tram system that can get you to the city's landmarks. They are also right across the street from a grocery store where you can buy bulk stroopwafel and cheese to take home as souvenirs. Even better, the staff are super friendly and kind and happy to share information on things to see and do. Rooms are definitely small but cosy, and they don't have low ceilings.

Excellent service and a yummy breakfast made for an wonderful experience. Very near two trams lines, so yes, there is noise. Probably a good idea to request an interior room if you have issues with noise.
